The Loneliest Highway - Nevada (Reno, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City)
We travelled east to west across Nevada using the Loneliest Highway in the USA, Highway 50, and at times we could see no others vehicles on the road. Drove across the desert landscape, went to Ely for the steam train tour and saw the oldest 4 storey hotel in Nevada.
We visited Reno staying in Sparks Marina RV Park which we liked a lot, took a day trip to the very pretty Lake Tahoe and drove up the windy road to the historical and authentic Virginia City, with hotels such as the Bucket of Blood Saloon.
This video is our postcard home for friends and family.
Big shout out to Kristen - No Ordinary Path - for her advice and recommendations, and wish her and her family travelling full time all the best of luck.

Virginia City is the Wild West
Virginia City, NV may be set in the 1800′s but the entertainment is timeless! It is a town rich in history and the home to a lot of firsts and lasts. Mark Twain first used his pen name here, Janice Joplin joined what would be her first band and they have the last full speed stagecoach ride.
There is an ever evolving calendar of events and something different almost every weekend! There are wild west show downs, themed balls, silly parades and museums galore. You can walk the town and enjoy the shops and saloons or dig in your heels and try every adventure. I love costumes and you have to love a town where you can dress in 19th century attire and blend in. With so much to do, the only thing you will have to worry about is how many days you can spare to stay.

Ponderosa Saloon and Belcher Mine - Part 4 Once A Bank Now A Place Of Spirits
The saloon at one time was the Sharon House and in 1864 The Bank Of California which played a role in developing the Comstock Lode. I will take you into a bank vault and a blast to the past as I film relics of the past. The bank would close in the 1930s not before it was robbed by a band of outlaws who buried some of the loot up at six mile canyon which is visible from downtown Virginia City. Eventually in the 1970s when the owners purchased this location they turned it into the saloon and dug a horizontal shaft into the main tunnel of The Belcher Mine so that they could give tours to its visitors while they could enjoy an ice cold brew. The saloon is very cozy as almost everything is original that includes the flooring, woodwork, old antique lamps and some of the relics in the cabinets. Mounted on the walls above are bucks, elks and even a boars head. It just feels so natural to be here and although its a little noisy in the background what does that tell you? It tells you everyone is having a great time and spirits is what its truly about.
