Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail (Video 2 of 2)
This short video of a section of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail was taken during my bike ride on July 4th, 2019.
The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail (D & R Canal) is a recreational trail in New Jersey. It stretches over 70 miles long, and is used for hiking and cycling. There are 3 segments of the trail, which goes through 3 counties: a towpath from New Brunswick to Trenton; a canal towpath/trail from Trenton to Bull's Island; and a trail from Bull's Island to Frenchtown. The canal construction began in 1830.

Northbound on the D&L Trail (Delaware Canal Towpath)
This is a video of a ride on the D&L Trail (about 20 miles north of New Hope, PA) I took in late August of 2014. This is just a small sampling of the Delaware Canal Towpath portion that runs for approx. 60 miles or so.
If you have time, you might want to check out the Southbound portion of the ride which is on a another video...
Here's what Traillink.com has to say about the trail:
The Delaware Canal Towpath, which extends from Bristol to Easton, is the only continuous intact canal remaining from the historic canal-building era of the early and mid-1800s.
Today the 60-mile Delaware Canal Towpath, once trod by teams of mules pulling cargo-laden boats, is one of four named trails that make up the 165-mile D&L Trail, the backbone of the National Heritage Corridor and the longest publicly owned trail remaining in the state. Other trails contained in the D&L are: the Lehigh Gorge State Park Trail, the Lehigh Canal North, and Lehigh Canal South.
Flood damage in 2004 and 2006 closed entire sections of the trail while significant repairs were made. The trail reopened in July 2010. Most of the repair focused on the locks and canal itself. The trail surface remains bumpy from exposed tree roots; users should expect rough conditions.
A variety of looping routes can be followed using any of the five bridges that cross into New Jersey and connect to the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park on the Jersey side of the river. Trail users can easily access both sides of the river to explore quaint towns and in-land trails to take in scenic river views. Connecting bridges are in the Pennsylvania towns of Uhlerstown, Lumberville, Center Bridge, Washington Crossing and Morrisville.

D & R Feeder Canal Bass and Delaware River Fishing, NJ, 9/17/17
See description for baits that worked and did not work. I was hoping to hook into some smallmouth on topwater and crankbaits this day. Didn't get any strikes on top so I switched to cranks and was fortunate to hook into a healthy fish right away but then nothing afterward. So I moved up to the the D & R feeder canal targeting largemouth there during midday with the idea of returning in the evening to the river.
This is my first attempt at the canal and I enjoyed it because the current does the work for you putting your lure in front of the fish.
The first fish was caught on a red crankbait bumping the rocks in the river proper. I tried tubes, hula grubs, swimbaits and craws on the river but no takers.
Feeder canal fish were also finicky except for the largest which took my jig at the far bank away from crowds and next to a brush pile. The other fish were taken on a finesse TRD on a 1/32 oz keitech mono spin jig combo. I imagine a neko rig would have been as equally effective.
The last fish was taken on a TRD drop shot setup. One smallmouth did not make the video and was taken on a black and blue fat ika at dusk.

Amazing, rare and heartfelt tribute to Native American tribes. Footage dating back to 1895, with rare vintage audio recording of Native American music.

Other films featured include Hopi Native Americans greeting TR and clips from the Chicago World's Fair in 1933.
It also shows 3 Native American feature films, White Fawn's Devotion, The Invaders and Last Of The Mohicans.
White Fawn's Devotion was the earliest film directed by a Native American, James Young Deer.
The old audio clip was recorded in 1895 by Alice Cunningham and Francis La Flesche. The song is 'He'dewachi' Dance Song and it is traditionally played at ceremonies which celebrate warriors.
