Busan Cruise Port, Terminal Shuttle Bus & Beautiful Sunset Sail-away (4K)
Take a tour of the Busan Cruise Port from our Asia Cruise. Officially the Busan Port International Cruise Terminal (부산연안여객터미널) or Yeongdo-gu Cruise Terminal, this was where we began a beautiful day in the city for us as part of our 14 Day Asia cruise on the Majestic Princess (盛世公主號). The cruise line (in our case Princess cruises) took care of immigration for us, so we pretty much just walked off the ship and through the port terminal building without any delay.
Right outside the Busan cruise terminal building was a trailer setup by a Korean bank where you can exchange money for Korea Won. The exchange rate wasn't great but it was convenient, just expect to wait 10+ minutes with all fellow cruise guests wanting to change money as well.
Princess offered a paid shuttle of $20 per person that would take us to Hotel Foret, which was not an area we were looking to visit. We wanted to visit the famous Jagalchi fish market and Busan Tower, which we did via the easier and cheaper Busan Metro subway system of the city. So we took the FREE shuttle that dropped us off at the Busan Metro Train Station instead (last return train was at 4:20 PM, all aboard time 5:00 PM at the ship). The shuttle took about 15 minutes to reach the station. We then visited the famous Jagalchi fish market via the Busan metro subway- see our video here:
Finally enjoy a beautiful sail away from Busan on our cruise ship at sunset, including going underneath the Busan Harbor Bridge (부산항대교).
This was part of our March 2018 Asia Cruise on the Majestic Princess cruise ship.
You Need To Visit Busan in South Korea | Everything to See & Do
To end our time here in South Korea we have made our way down to the bottom of the country to explore Busan - this is everything we got up to during our 24 hour stay!
After leaving Gyeongju and jumping on the high speed train we arrived in the city of Busan. After transferring via metro to our hotel on the beach in Haeundae (I think it's pronounced like the car company) we headed out to explore.
First stop the water temple of Haedong Yonggungsa Temple which was super unique due to it's location on the east / Japan sea. We then headed out to Igidae Park to stroll across to the Orukdo Skywalk to see the 5 or 6 islands.
After our stomachs got a bit hungry from the walk we headed to the Jagalchi Fish market to have some tasty Sushimi before ending our day at the Busan Tower to get some views of the old town.
In the morning we reflected on our time here in Korea before heading off to our most requested country of all time...

Busan Korea Subway Ride & Ticket Buying (4K)
Take a look what a Korea subway train ride was like. We were in Busan, Korea for one day as part of our 14 night Asia cruise in 2018. We took a free shuttle that went from the cruise port to Busan Station, where we took the Busan Subway Line 1 to Jagalchi station to visit the famous market there, and then later visit the Busan Tower & Yongdusan Park.
Here you see how we bought Busan metro All Day Pass subway tickets via a machine (it takes only 1000 won bills) which cost 5000 won per person (about $4.31 USD). There is a money change machine nearby to break down larger bills (we had 10,000 won bills which it did not take as you can see). It was nice to see that the machine supported English. It was also very interesting to see so many shops at the subway area as well.
The locals were friendly and helpful- so if you do run into any problem they would be happy to help you out!

Airports, ports take precautions to prevent spread of Wuhan virus
'민족대이동' 앞두고 우한 폐렴 공포...질병관리본부, 우한 폐렴 ‘지역사회 대응체계’ 강화
Untold millions of people throughout Asia are traveling for the Lunar New Year holiday, so South Korea has put its major ports and airports on high alert to try and stop the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus.
Our Kim Dami is at the country's busiest airport.
Dami, what's the story there?
Devin, I'm here at Incheon International Airport where, as you can see, it's not hard to spot people wearing masks as a preventative measure.
To make this already hectic period of the year run smoothly and safely, the South Korean government has pledged its utmost efforts to closely monitor the situation.
Let's take a listen.
South Korea's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will closely watch the World Health Organization's decision, and no matter what decision it makes including an emergency declaration, the government will continue to pool all of its equipment and human resources for the safety of our citizens.
South Korea’s foreign ministry on Thursday also issued a level 2 travel advisory for Wuhan, advising people to reconsider trips to the city.
The government says 21 people who have shown suspicious symptoms have tested negative, and so far there has been one person from China who has been confirmed to have the virus in South Korea.
And security and quarantine measures are tighter than ever here at the airport.
Ear thermometers and heat cameras are used to check incoming visitors' temperatures, and the authorities are placing those suspected to have been infected with the disease in a designated isolation ward.
Incheon International Airport is the only airport in the country with direct flights from Wuhan. There are usually eight flights a week from Wuhan with about 200 passengers arriving from there each day.
Two special gates have been designated for passengers from the city, checking each passenger's temperature as they walk through the gates.
And a disease control center will be open 24-hours a day during the Lunar New Year travel season.
The government's quarantine measures also include the sea routes including Busan Port International Passenger Terminal.
Dami, with so much concern about this virus spreading so suddenly, there must have been some effect on Korea's travel industry.
Right, some of those who had planned to spend their holidays abroad are now reconsidering their holiday plans.
Over a million people in Korea will be flying either domestically or overseas during the next 4 days.
And because fears are rising over the spread of the new virus from China, a local travel agency says over 20 percent of flight tickets to China between January and March have been cancelled.
Cancellation requests have been flooding in since the start of the outbreak.
But there are also foreigners coming into the country for the Lunar New Year.
Over 130-thousand visitors from China are expected to come and spend their holidays in South Korea.
Any travelers who have fever or respiratory problems within 2 weeks of traveling abroad are advised to contact the disease control center by dialling 1339.
Back to you Devin.

Busan’s First Arrival
[Anchor Lead]
Amid cautious optimism about tourism numbers in the year to come, Busan port has welcomed this year's first cruise ship to dock at the southern city. The ship brings with it 3,000 tourists on board.
[Pkg]
This is the Skysea Golden Era, the first international cruise ship to dock at Busan port this year. Three-thousand people, including 2,200 Chinese tourists and crew members, visited Busan. A small welcome ceremony was held to celebrate the first port entry of this year.
[Soundbite] Chinese Tourist : I like Korean TV dramas a lot. They are really fun.
Concerns are rising high over a possible drop in the number foreign tourists, as the travel industry is predicting that fewer Chinese tourists on group tours will visit South Korea this year. Analysis shows that Beijing's retaliatory measures against Seoul's decision to host the U.S. THAAD anti-missile battery are affecting the number of group tourists from China. However, a total of some 260 cruise ships will visit Busan this year, which is 50 more than last year. Optimism is mounting, as the number of cruise tourists will likely grow by 80,000 to 650,000.
[Soundbite] Shin Yong-sam(Executive, Busan Tourism Organization) : We will make efforts to attract not only Chinese group tourists but also individual travelers or those from Japan or Southeast Asia.
With a celebratory mood over the first ship to dock in the new year... the cruise industry in Busan is anticipating that growth will continue in 2017.
2,500 cruise tourists from Taiwan visit Korea's Busan on Tuesday
사드보복으로 인해 비바람 맞고있는 크루즈 산업,... 시장 다변화를 위한 노력
The nation's cruise sectors was one of the hardest hit industries when China imposed a ban on group tour to Korea.
But Korea has been coming up with measures to lessen dependency on Chinese visitors,... and its efforts are bearing fruits.
Lee Ji-won provides a closer look.
A cruise carrying some 25-hundred tourists arrived in Korea's southern port city of Busan early Tuesday morning.
Having departed from Taiwan on Sunday,... Sapphire Princess made a one day-stop in Korea as part of a seven day trip around East Asia.
Unlike last year, when there was only one cruise coming from Taiwan, Tuesday's trip is the fourth time that a cruise from Taiwan has docked at the port city this year,... carrying some 95-hundred tourists to Busan.
The majority of Korea's cruise tourists used to come from China,... which accounted for over 90 percent of the nearly two-million cruise tourists visiting Korea last year.
But with Beijing banning group tours to Korea in March in retaliation for Seoul's deployment of the THAAD missile defense system, Korea's cruise industry has been hard hit,... seeing a more than 90-percent on-year fall in cruise tourists in May and June.
Since the ban,... Korea's tourism industry, including Busan Port Authority, has been active in trying to diversify its tourists,… and Taiwan is one promising market. Port authorities expect the number of Taiwanese cruise tourists to jump from 250-thousand last year, to well over 300-thousand this year.
With limited time to explore the city, many cruise tourists opt for a one-day tour to see Busan's famous sites.
(Stndp)
”One of the stops on the tour is the BIFF square. Every year, the city hosts the world-renowned Busan International Film Festival,... and in this area tourists can enjoy the history of Korean films while tucking in to some local street foods.”
From spicy rice-cakes,... to Busan's famous sweet pancakes, Hodduk,… there's plenty of Korean snacks to taste. And on the streets are hand prints of famous movie directors and stars,... as well as posters of some of the country's most well-known movies.
