The Laidlaw Music Centre, St Andrews
The official ground-breaking ceremony for the University of St Andrews’ new Laidlaw Music Centre (Tuesday 24 July 2018) heralds an important milestone in the development of Scotland’s performing arts infrastructure.
The building will provide a state-of-the-art facility including intimate performance venue, high-tech recording facility, library, and flexible rehearsal space. Together with the Byre Theatre it is hoped the development will transform the east end of St Andrews into an exciting cultural quarter.

St Andrews Green Film Festival
16-21 February 2015
---------------------
This powerful film odyssey across America explores the sea change in our national attitude from pride in big dams as engineering wonders to the growing awareness that our own future is bound to the life and health of our rivers. Dam removal has moved beyond the fictional Monkey Wrench Gang to go mainstream. Where obsolete dams come down, rivers bound back to life, giving salmon and other wild fish the right of return to primeval spawning grounds, after decades without access. DamNation's majestic cinematography and unexpected discoveries move us through rivers and landscapes altered by dams, but also through a metamorphosis in values, from conquest of the natural world to knowing ourselves as part of nature.

Lyrics:A light in the room
It was you who was standing there
Tried it was true
As your glance met my stare
But your heart drifted off
Like the land split by sea
I tried to go, to follow
To kneel down at your feet
I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you
I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you
I've been settling scores
I've been fighting so long
But I've lost your war
And our kingdom is gone
How shall I win back
Your heart which was mine
I have broken bones and tattered clothes
I've run out of time
I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you
I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you
Whoa, oh, oh
I will break down the gates of heaven
A thousand angels stand waiting for me,
Oh, take my heart and I'll lay down my weapons
Break my shackles to set me free
I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you
I'll run (I'll run), I'll run (I'll run), I'll run, run to you
Mm, mm, mm, mm

There's two rules. First, the person you choose must be dead. And second, you have to be dressed up to get in.
It's Thursday night in the Prince Arthur and their latest theme night is in full swing.
Landlady Liz is run off her feet, whilst husband Barry struggles to get into his new costume. Elsewhere in London, a young woman from Edinburgh steps off a train, determined to make her dreams a reality.
Fast-paced and irreverent, Marie is a darkly comic new play inspired by the life of Mary Queen of Scots, but given a distinctly modern twist.

Islander - A New Musical
Eilidh has never left her island. Every day is the same. Same chores, same people, same conversations. She stands on the cliffs and dreams of the Bigland over the sea.
Then one day a strange girl from faraway arrives on the Island - and with her, events that will change Eilidh's life forever.
Boldly exploring themes of conflict, migration and identity, Islander is for everyone 8 years and older. Blending dramatic action, epic storytelling and a cappella song, the performers live-record and layer their voices with looping technology to create a feast for the ears and imagination.
