Cable Cars of San Francisco 2018 (Powell-Hyde and California)
The San Francisco cable car system is the world's last manually operated cable car system. An icon of San Francisco, the cable car system forms part of the intermodal urban transport network operated by the San Francisco Municipal Railway. Of the 23 lines established between 1873 and 1890, only three remain (one of which combines parts of two earlier lines): two routes from downtown near Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf, and a third route along California Street. While the cable cars are used to a certain extent by commuters, the vast majority of their 7 million annual passengers are tourists. They are among the most significant tourist attractions in the city, along with Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman's Wharf. The cable cars are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. ~Wikipedia

FULL CABLE CAR RIDE & Museum Experience - San Francisco
On this day (December 2018), I experienced San Francisco cable car system which is a historic symbol recognized around the globe and offer real working transportation up the steep hills of the Bay Area. The Cable Cars start at 6am and continue until 12 midnight (Time subject to change). Traveling from Union Square to the crest of Nob Hill; the cable cars offer an existing way to move around San Francisco. Taking a ride is an unforgettable experience when visiting San Francisco, California. Although, individuals who might dismiss cable cars as a tourist attraction, some will say it’s a must to do ones in their life time. The Cable Cars is $7.00 to ride one way (Price subject to change). There are three different Cable Car routes to choose from within the city. The two main lines are Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason. These are the two lines most individuals ride because of major steep hills and those classic city views. The other San Francisco Cable Car route is the California-Van Ness line, which starts at California and Market and continues on until Van Ness. If you have never ridden a San Francisco cable car before then it can seem kind of confusing to navigate but it’s actually pretty straightforward (Videos out there). One thing I would suggest if you want to avoid the long line. I found out you can walk a few blocks and get the car at the next stop. The downside to this is that the car will be almost full and you will most likely have to hang on to the side of the car to ride; which is what I wanted. The upside is that the wait is significantly shorter. All-in-all, great experience.
THE CABLE CAR SYSTEM OF SAN FRANCISCO (2016)

San Francisco Cable Car - Complete Ride on Powell-Hyde line
Thanks for watching, to support my work:
A complete journey on the scenic Powell-Hyde cable car line in San Francisco, filmed from the front of the running board. Starting at the Powell Street turnaround at Market St the cable car travels through the heart of the city as it climbs and descends Nob Hill and Russian Hill on its way to Fisherman's Wharf.
Highlights include passing Union Square, the crooked Lombard Street and a great view of Alcatraz in the Bay with the sound of a fun and vocal crowd onboard. For purity I have not edited out the stops, but you can skip the longer stops if you like.

San Francisco, in northern California, is a hilly city on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. It's known for its year-round fog, iconic Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colorful Victorian houses. The Financial District's Transamerica Pyramid is its most distinctive skyscraper. In the bay sits Alcatraz Island, site of the notorious former prison.
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
