Camana Bay turns 10!
Camana Bay turns 10 this month and to celebrate, it threw a big party! And of course, Cayman Shorts attended!
The mixed use New Urbanism community continues to resonate with all those visiting, working and living in Grand Cayman. The Dart Real Estate and Camana Bay teams wanted to show gratitude to all those who made the vision of Ken Dart become a reality in the Cayman Islands and the big thank you is in the form of a public party where everyone can enjoy live bands, local fish fry, arts & crafts stalls and of course, birthday cake!
In this episode of Cayman Shorts, Tammi Sulliman is joined by Senior Brand Manager Joanne Gammage who tells us what’s happening at this celebration. Camana Bay threw a big party for the community with cake, arts and crafts for the children, a firework show and the restaurants of Camana Bay put on a fish fry. This celebration is all about giving back to the community and those who have made Camana Bay what it is. There are more than 1,700 people who live and work here and there and tens of thousands of people who visit Camana Bay every year. We just wanted to say thank you!

Five tips for designing your Grand Cayman home
Have you just bought Grand Cayman real estate? Interior Designer Michelle Butler of Design Studio at Camana Bay breaks down her five fabulous tips for designing your new Cayman Islands home. Be sure to like, comment and join our YouTube family!
Michelle is the mastermind behind some of the homes at The Residences at Seafire, scheduled to open later this month.
1. Don’t rush – This step is very important as you should enjoy the process. Find things that you love and bring them into your home.
2. Build a narrative – Not everything has to match but everything should have a cohesion. Be strategic. Think about whether it will suit the house and if it fits part of the story you’re creating for your home.
3. Don’t clutter – If you have many items that will fill a surface, it’s better to create a timeline. Go with spring items or seasonal items and keep other items in storage. Don’t put everything out. Let your beautiful items sing one at a time.
4. Buy quality items – Invest in critical pieces and don’t rush and buy everything for one room. A rug is a great example. It’s like piece of art on the floor. Don’t rush that process and make sure that when you buy something, its quality.
5. Don’t be afraid – There are no rules in design. It comes from the heart. If you feel like you love something, move forward. Be fearless.
