2017 - Espagne : El Caminito del Rey in 4K
The Caminito del Rey (Little King's Path, sometimes shortened to Camino del Rey or King's Way) is a via ferrata hung along a steep wall in a parade of gorges (El Chorro - Los Ardales Nature Park). south of Spain.
Located on the side of the cliff, where the Guadalhorce River flows, this road was built between 1901 and 1905, for the purpose of the construction of two hydroelectric dams.
The path was three kilometers long and one meter wide. It had been dug into the rock, and consisted of reinforced concrete slabs, supported by rails and fixed to the side of a cliff. It overhangs the river a good hundred meters in places.
The road was restored in 2014, and the renovation techniques are very similar to those used during its construction of 1901 in 1905. The old road was nicknamed the most dangerous of the world and it reopened its access in 2015.
It is now completely secure and accessible to families. However, to maintain its impressive appearance, a balcony with glass floor overlooking the river.
Attention, if the wind exceeds 35 km / h on the bridge allowing the passage of a cliff to another, you will be forced to return another time and this was our case.
You have to go very early in the morning (before 11 am because less wind), you will have the opportunity to take tickets at the entrance (which is 1.3 or 2.5 km depending on the choice of path)

TORREDENBARRA TARRAGONA

Meades, Franco Building, Mass Tourism, 2019
Jonathan Meades looks at the architectural legacy of one of Europe’s most notorious dictators - Francisco Franco. He reveals that Franco’s lasting contribution to Spanish architecture wasn’t in the dull official buildings he commissioned, but in the tower blocks of tourist towns like Benidorm.

The Hottest Day on Camino de Santiago in Catalonia, Spain - Day 3 | From Pont de Bar to Seu d'Urgell
This was our third day of Cami de Sant Jaume or Catalan Camino de Santiago. The plan was to do the 80 kms in 4 days and get from Llivia village in the province of Girona to Organya in the province of Lleida. It is also called the Camino del Segre, because it follows the stream of the river all the way through crossing the region of Cerdanya and Alt Urgell. It is just a part of the whole Camino de Santiago that can be taken starting from Pyrenees in Spain and moving towards the city of Pamplona where it joins the French Way.
We had a very good night at the camping Pont d'Ardaix, it was thunderstorming a bit in the evening again but then it was all calm and quiet. For the day 3 we planned to do the same distance again as all the previous days - around 20 kms. And our final point was the town of Seu d'Urgell in the province of Lleida. We did realize that the trail probably would be quite challenging and hard because of the mountains around us and the extreme July heat that was staying with us everyday. So we wanted to get ready as quickly as possible and to conquer the main mountain of the day before the midday heat comes. At first the marking of the way was quite good and we barely had to use our GPS. We were running out of food having only some fruit and chocolate left so we were a bit worried whether we have enough supplies for the day, cause we knew that till the end of the day we won't meet any shop. First several kms the trail was easy and almost flat going through the forest and little village Pont de Bar Vell. In this village we met the cutest animal ever - little baby donkey pasturing with his parents. So we were lucky to spend some time with them. We got to enjoy the great views of the mountain summit and gorge on the way. Then we had to walk for about 1.5 kms on the car road having no signs of the way whatsoever. Only GPS and downloaded trail on Wikiloc helped us to find the right direction. It's just the reality of this trail that sometimes you don't see any marking and suddenly in the middle of nowhere you find the sign again. When we got to the village Arseguel we lost our track once again, having hard time wandering through the narrow streets of the old town...

Top 5 Spanish Villas to rent in Playa de Aro
Castell-Platja d'Aro is a municipality in the middle of the Costa Brava in Catalonia, Spain. It is formed from two parts: Castell d'Aro is an ancient village built around a medieval castle and a fortified church, 3 km inland on the road from Platja d'Aro to Santa Cristina d'Aro; and Platja d'Aro is a coastal town on the road from Palamós to Sant Feliu de Guíxols which stretches along a large 2 km beach. Originally a small fishing village, Platja d'Aro is now a major coastal resort, popular predominantly with Catalans and villa-owning Northern Europeans.
Castell d'Aro is located in the heart of the Costa Brava, 80 km north of Barcelona. It borders with Calonge to the north, Santa Cristina d'Aro to the west, Sant Feliu to the south and the Coast to the East. Castell-Platja d'Aro occupies the eastern end of the Vall d'Aro, a narrow plain drained by the river Ridaura and located between the Mountain ranges of Cadiretes and southern end of the Gavarres. Platja d'Aro was originally a small fishing village on the highway between Palamós and Sant Feliu de Guíxols with a 2 km long beach. It is now a major tourist resort with hotels and other commercial premises.

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 5 - Colera, Llançà, Selva de Mar
Explore the beauty of Mediterranean coast hiking with us! Discover the variety of landscapes and scenic beaches, its flora and fauna, historical places and small villages. These video series is devoted to the Catalonian part of it, starting from the French village Argelès-sur-Mer in Pyrénées-Orientales all the way to the Spanish village of Cadaqués and Cap de Creus cape on the Costa Brava.
We started our day feeling very refreshed and energized after having a nice rest at the camping Sant Miquel in Colera, Spain. We had a plan to make 15 kms to the town Selva de mar further down the coast and hoped that the relief and the weather will work in our favor. When we were leaving Colera for the first time during this hike we felt the piece of our heart was left in this place. It seemed so cosy and home-like to us and we were definetely considering going back here to stay for several days when we finish the hike. So we said goodbye to this beautiful place and started to climb up the first hill for the day. As always we were determined to go as close to the coastline as possible and go over every cliff. And so after the first hill we came down to the beach Playa de Garbet. There it was so tempting to get in the water that we almost decided to jump into it but then we realized that the shower on that beach didn't work. And hiking all day long with salty shoulders didn't seem a good idea so we had to surrender to this fact and continue hiking. During the next several kms we met plenty of stunning little beaches scattered along the cliffs that looked like a great place to chill out. But we were happy just enjoying the beautiful views and breathing the fresh salty air. The sun however was really getting at us burning our skin and striking our heads. So we were hiding and searching for the shadow all the time. Then we entered the town of Llanca where we had to do a little break in the shadow of the park. It was the best decision cause this way we could wait for the heat to come down and continue hiking in the more comfortable conditions. The sky started to cover in clouds and it saved our day. The last 7 kms we were walking on a really nice pavement route made out of rocks and it was just a perfect idyllic route for taking a peaceful walk that was connecting the town of Llanca to Selva de Mar. On the way we met a beautiful lighthouse Far de s´Aranella as well as lots of great views over Cap de Creus that was the final destination of our hike. So in a very peaceful mood but a bit tired from the heat we got to the outskirts of La Selva de Mar...

Hola, Europa!.

Cel i Terra
dominen tot el més enllà
en silenci
escrit per sempre en el passat.
En els teus ulls
llueix la Lluna com el mar
rera el teu plor
s'hi troba ocult el teu pesar.
I ben lluny d'aquí
Antics camins perduts
presoners dels teus secrets
en la Història
escrita en l'antiguitat
Màgia eterna
Regna en la teva soletat
neix del teu lament
I en el teu Nom
Montserrat...
