Now this is a tricky one - the address of Campbell Falls State Park is actually in Norfolk CT, but Campbell Falls itself is located in a tiny corner of the park just across the border in Massachusetts! Kind of like Bash Bish is on the border of NY & MA. Nonetheless, Campbell is a beautiful waterfall. Shot 5/6/19.

Hiking Shenipsit Trail, Shenipsit State Forest, Connecticut
Hiking the Shenipsit Trail in -- what else? -- Shenipsit State Forest, in Connecticut. I started at Sodom Road on CT-190, in Tolland County between Somers and Stafford Springs, south to CT-140, climbing all 300 ft. of Soapstone Mountain along the way. It was very green, but the #flowerporn was unfortunately Rated G. The next day, it was off to Stafford Motor Speedway for an Endurance Karting race!

Wadsworth Falls State Park - Middletown, Connecticut - Edventure #1
Wadsworth Falls State Park, or simply Wadsworth Falls, is a Connecticut state park located in the towns of Middletown and Middlefield. The park lies in the northeast corner of Middlefield, and extends across the town border into Middletown with the main entrance on Route 157. The park itself consists of a series of marked trails covering 285 acres (1.15 km2) and is intersected by the Coginchaug River, a tributary of the Connecticut River.
There is also a swimming and picnicking area in the park grounds. The swimming pool is paved with soil cement to prevent leakage. Water is pumped from water wells located near the Coginchaug River. Through the hiking trails there is a small brown bridge leading to the falls. Wadsworth Falls is 30 feet (9.1 m) high, with 52 feet (16 m) of water trickling over sandstone along the trail.

Gillette Castle Connecticut State Park, summer 2005 Original
Built in 1901 and designed by William Gillette (an actor in the Original Sherlock Holmes play) Gillette Castle is a magnificent, historic, tourist attraction located by the Connecticut river and it's possible to travel to and from it via a fairy boat that goes across the river. Gillette Castle has many beautiful nature trails that go on for miles. The Castle is located at the end of River Road in East Haddam Connecticut.

Touring a couple Ct. State Parks
Visited 2-3-18
Sometimes it’s all about the journey and getting lost just to be found. Connecting to nature & appreciating the views. Visited a couple parks in Ct. and even though it was freezing with a temp of 21 degrees. Looking forward to going in the Spring.
1st stop: Israel Putnam Wolf Den is a historic site off Wolf Den Road in Pomfret, Connecticut.
2nd stop: Nipmuck State Forest is a Connecticut state forest. Its 9,000 acres surround Bigelow Hollow State Park in the town of Union and include parcels in Stafford, Ashford, and other towns.
