The Chiesa di San Barnaba is a small Neoclassical-style church in the sestiere of Dorsoduro in Venice. It is dedicated to the Apostle Saint Barnabas. A church at the site was built in the ninth century, but destroyed by fire in 1105. Rebuilt in 1350, it was reconstructed in its present form in 1776 under the patronage of Marcantonio Grimani using designs of Lorenzo Boschetti.
The 11th-century campanile, detached from the main body of the church, has a pine-cone shaped spire from the 1300s. To the left of the church was the entrance to the Casin dei Nobili (Casino of the Aristocracy), which was an active gaming house in the 18th century.
The church is now deconsecrated and used for exhibitions. A scene in the 1989 film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was shot in the Campo San Barnaba in front of the church, with the church's façade as an imaginary library.

In our wanderings through Venice in September 2011, we came upon Campo San Barnaba, the location on which the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was shot in August 1988. I tried to retrace Indy's steps and you can see the results on the video! Many things are different but others, like the grocer's boat with the green tent, are still there...
San Barnaba Church is an ordinary church. The huge indoor library shown in the movie was filmed elsewhere.
The manhole never existed. A fake one was created on purpose for the movie, and closed afterwards.
Please note that this video is purely fan made and is to be considered an homage to the Indiana Jones movies. I do not own the footage and the soundtrack from the Indiana Jones movies that I used. They belong to their rightful owners.

On day 2, we rode Gondola trough small and grand canals of Venice..!! Besides that, we also visited doge’s palace, museo coreo, trying vaporetto (water bus), wearing our venetian masks, and other things.
Take gondola from Campo San Barnaba and look for Diego Orio. He was a great gondolier. Other gondoliers seem to be playing with their phones while driving the gondola, but Diego didn't and explained us about Venice and spots that we passed.
