Our Vacation at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa
Follow along on our trip to Cape Cod Massachusetts to the Cape Codder Resort and Spa! We travelled in on a road trip from Canada to check out the Cape Codder Resort along with Cape Cod. We checked out the Cape Codder Water Park, the resort's arcade, the Beach Plum spa, the Hearth n' Kettle restaurant and more! We also spent a day touring around Provincetown, Massachusetts as well!

Cape Cod is a geographic cape and peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in the easternmost part of the state of
Massachusetts in the Northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months.
Cape Cod, a hook-shaped peninsula in southeastern Massachusetts, is a popular summertime destination. Its 15 main towns encompass quaint villages, seafood shacks, lighthouses, ponds and bay and ocean beaches. Provincetown, at the far tip, marks the Pilgrims’ first anchorage in the New World with a towering monument. A longtime haven for artists, gays and lesbians, P-town offers numerous galleries, theaters, cabarets and nightclubs.
Cape Cod is a geographic cape/island and independent land mass separated from the mainland by the Cape Cod Canal that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in the easternmost part of the state of Massachusetts in the Northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months.
Cape Cod stretches from Provincetown in the northeast to Woods Hole in the southwest. Cape Cod, as defined by the Cape Cod Commission's enabling legislation, comprises Barnstable County. The Cape Cod Canal cuts 17.5 miles (28.2 km) roughly across the base of the peninsula, though the western boundary of the cape extends to include small portions of the towns of Bourne and Sandwich which lie on the mainland side of the canal.
Two road bridges cross the Cape Cod Canal: the Sagamore Bridge and the Bourne Bridge. In addition, the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge carries railway freight and limited passenger services onto the Cape. Cape territory is divided into fifteen towns with many villages.

In our first visit to the Boston area, we soaked in as much as possible and got to eat at the oldest tavern in America, founded in 1795! Need I say more?

We experienced so much history as we explored Salem, Boston, Plymouth and Cape Cod that we were just completely blown away.
We learned about the Salem witch trials, about the life of author Nathaniel Hawthorne who lived and worked here, and we also toured the House of the Seven Gables in Salem that Hawthorne's book was based on.
Then in Boston, we got to tour the Old South Meeting House where Ben Franklin was baptized and where the idea for the Boston Tea Party was born. On top of that, we got to eat lunch at the oldest tavern in America: The Bell In Hand Tavern located in Boston's North End near Little Italy...also incredible, by the way!
Finally, on our day trip to the south of the city, we stopped at Plymouth Rock and were able to walk through the historic city of Plymouth (or Plimouth as it was originally called). For our finale, we made it out to Cape Cod and experienced a little bit of the coast line at Falmouth. We got some great pictures of the Nobska Lighthouse near sunset and glimpsed Martha's Vineyard just across the water.
All of it was just jaw-dropping. In addition to the beauty and history, we experienced some of the kindest and most considerate folks we have ever come across here in Massachusetts. From the courteous drivers who almost ALWAYS make space and let you in, to the friendly folks who stop you in the street to strike up a conversation or just want to find out if you need any help finding your way around, we were pleasantly surprised at every turn. It was a truly remarkable experience for all of us.

But if this episode does nothing else, I hope that it will help dispel some of the myths about people in this area being rude and inconsiderate, as I have been warned most of my life. That was NOT our experience at all, but also I want to be clear that I truly believe you most often find what YOU bring. We try to bring kindness and friendliness wherever we go...but we are obviously not perfect at this. So if you visit, bring your best self and you will have a much better chance of having a very positive experience.
