Hippo Helps Reveal Expectant Couple’s Baby's Sex
A father-to-be fed a watermelon to a hungry hippo to reveal the sex of his child. The reveal happened Saturday at Capital of Texas Zoo in Cedar Creek. Blue Jell-O poured out of Tank the hippo’s mouth, indicating the couple is having a boy. But not everyone thinks getting the hippo involved was a good thing. “Worst gender reveal,” was one tweet. “That person's baby is not important enough to feed a hippo food coloring,” goes another comment.

2015 Bastrop Texas Flood Colorado River
This is Chestnut (Loop 150) Street in Bastrop, Texas. May 26,2015. (Memorial Day Weekend) These flood waters are a result of the previous days rain. The river in this video is at 30 feet or so. You can see that some of the power lines that are normally way above the water are about to go under water. I would not be surprised if some debris caught this wire not long after this video that was taken at about 2pm. The river rose another couple feet int he following hours.

FOREVER GREEN - The 'wonderful rich tapestry' of Woodland
Woodland /ˈwʊdlənd/ (About this sound listen) is a low-density forest forming open habitats with plenty of sunlight and limited shade. Woodlands may support an understory of shrubs and herbaceous plants including grasses. Woodland may form a transition to shrubland under drier conditions or during early stages of primary or secondary succession. Higher density areas of trees with a largely closed canopy that provides extensive and nearly continuous shade are referred to as forests.
Conservationists have worked hard to preserve woodlands, because people are destroying animal habitats when building homes and other buildings. For example, the woodlands in Northwest Indiana have been preserved as part of the Indiana Dunes.[1][2][3]
United Kingdom:
Woodland is used in British woodland management to mean tree-covered areas which arose naturally and which are then managed, while forest is usually used in the British Isles to describe plantations, usually more extensive, or hunting Forests, which are a land use with a legal definition and may not be wooded at all.[4] The term ancient woodland is used in British nature conservation to refer to any wooded land that has existed since 1600, and often (though not always) for thousands of years, since the last Ice Age[4] (equivalent to the American term old-growth forest).
North America:
Woodlot is a closely related American term, which refers to a stand of trees generally used for firewood. While woodlots often technically have closed canopies, they are so small that light penetration from the edge makes them ecologically closer to woodland than forest.
Australia:
In Australia, a woodland is defined as an area with sparse (10-30%) cover of trees, and an open woodland has very sparse (10% or less) cover. Woodlands are also subdivided into tall woodlands, or low woodlands, if their trees are over 30 m or under 10 m high respectively. This contrasts with forests, which have greater than 30% cover by trees.[5]
United States:
The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America (/əˈmɛrɪkə/), is a federal republic[16][17] composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions.[fn 6] Forty-eight states and the federal district are contiguous and located in North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is in the northwest corner of North America, bordered by Canada to the east and across the Bering Strait from Russia to the west. The state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific Ocean. The U.S. territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, stretching across nine official time zones. The extremely diverse geography, climate and wildlife of the United States make it one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries.[19]
At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2)[20] and with over 324 million people, the United States is the world's third- or fourth-largest country by total area,[fn 7] and the third-most populous. The capital is Washington, D.C., and the largest city is New York City; twelve other major metropolitan areas—each with at least 4.5 million inhabitants—are Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Riverside.
