Carlsbad Village Faire
North County’s favorite street fair is returning to Carlsbad Village on Sunday, May 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Organized by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, as we know it, since 1974, the Carlsbad Village Faire, features a little of everything: arts & crafts, antiques, unique clothing, items from around the world, etc. Children’s rides, an international food center, and an old-fashioned pancake breakfast guarantee fun for the whole family!
This popular Carlsbad event has become the largest one-day street fair in the nation, drawing visitors from all over Southern California, and even from other states. The Carlsbad Village Faire stretches East to West from Carlsbad Boulevard to Jefferson Street and North to South from Beech Avenue to Carlsbad Village Drive. All those streets are closed for the event.
“The Carlsbad Village Faire is a great celebration of Southern California culture and our community,” said Bret Schanzenbach, President and CEO of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to host this wonderful community event that showcases local businesses and gives fairgoers a day to enjoy quality time with loved ones, relax, listen to live music and create cherished memories.”
The Kiwanis Club of Carlsbad will continue its more than 25-year tradition of hosting a pancake breakfast at the Carlsbad railroad depot. The meal, which includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice, will be served between 7:00 a.m. and noon.
To make parking more convenient, complimentary shuttles will run to and from the faire. Shuttles will pick up and drop off passengers at the Poinsettia Coaster Station and the west corner of Sears at The Shoppes at Carlsbad. Additional handicapped parking is available at the Carlsbad Visitor Center (the old train depot), 400 Carlsbad Village Drive and at the Village Faire Shopping Center, 300 Carlsbad Village Drive. The handicapped space is limited. Visitors are advised to plan accordingly.

It is very wide and the two level, non commercial sea walk offers spectacular panoramic views from the top, or a cozy sand level stroll from the bottom. One of the best attractions of the beach apart from its sheer size, is the plethora of activities located right there at the beach. Carlsbad has some 47 eating establishments within a three block radius, and also offers several live entertainment venues. The village is also ffilled with boutiques, art galleries, antique stores, and even has the world's largest (if not only) ongoing school of figurative sculpture.
Carlsbad beach is also known for its surfing, kayaking, water sports; and occasionally even has dolphins swimming in the area. It is an excellent family area and offers uncrowded fun for people of all types and ages.
North County San Diego - South Carlsbad - Altamira Spotlight
Tucked within San Diego's north county, is the community of Altamira One. It consists of 320 attached homes (PUD's) ranging from about 850 to 1350 sq. feet and is one of the more affordable neighborhoods in South Carlsbad.
