Life in early North Carolina - Exploring Old Salem!
On a beautiful spring day we decided to take a drive up to Old Salem and see what this historic, living history museum was all about. Originally settled in the 1750s, Winston-Salem was once known as just Salem. The Moravians came here from Pennsylvania to build a Moravian church community. You were required to be a member of the church to love here. A lot has changed. Salem became Winston-Salem and is no longer a strict church community. But the heritage of the community lives on through Old Salem.

Ep. 108 - Haunted Old Salem
We are joined on this episode by Assistant Producer Steven Pappas and he shares his experiences as well as the history and supernatural experiences at Old Salem in North Carolina. When most people think of cities in North Carolina, they think of Charlotte or Raleigh. These are the state's two sprawling metropolises and home to many large industries. What most people don't think about is a city mid-way between the two and that is Winston-Salem. Winston-Salem is a town that is not only the home to the headquarters of some large companies such as Texas Pete and RJ Reynolds, but also has a rich history which began as a religious settlement in Old Salem that is still standing 250 years after being established. The town of Old Salem is considered to be an archaeological site. This is a place where people put down roots, and it seems some spirits may have as well. Come with us as we explore the history and the hauntings of Old Salem, North Carolina. The Moment in Oddity features Violet Jessop as suggested by Bob Sherfield and This Day in History features the first Mardi Gras in New Orleans by Jessica Bell.

Following the discovery of gold in North Carolina, an enterprising Cornish engineer named Charles McCulloch came to the gold fields of Jamestown, North Carolina to build a gold refinery. He brought with him the architecture of England and the latest technological development, the steam engine. McCulloch Gold Mill was built in 1832 and operated many years as an integral part of the history of Gold Mining in the State and in the Nation.

Positively Paranormal Investigates The Trivette Clinic
This is footage of our investigation of the former Trivette Clinic, in Hamptonville, NC. This building was used as a small country hospital from 1932-1938. In the intervening years it's been a restaurant/bar, a nursing home, and a detox center. Nowadays the building has been fully furnished and is rented out for weddings and parties. No one lives here. The current owners allow investigations for a small fee, so if you ever get the chance, go there, it's quite an active location and you're sure to record something interesting on audio or video there.
