Dall’anno 2000 ad oggi, la ProLoco ha potuto restaurare alla pubblica fruizione diversi siti della Fortezza, il tutto grazie alle entrate della biglietteria e l’impiego di tanti volontari e benefattori.
Ma c’è ancora tanto da scoprire… ancora buona parte dell’area è da recuperare e questo WORK IN PROGRESS è possibile grazie a tutti i Visitatori che con il loro ingresso, contribuiranno alla rinascita di questo favoloso sito storico.
CASTROCARO'S FORTRESS … A wonderful slice of Castrocaro Terme !
From the year 2000 to the present, an association promoting local culture and tourism has been able to bring out several sites of the fortress to public use, all thanks to the ticket sales and the employment of many volunteers and benefactors.
But there is still a lot to discover ... there are a lot areas which are not find out and this WORK IN PROGRESS is possible thanks to all the Visitors who, with their entrance, will contribute to help the local association.

Desde el año 2000 hasta hoy, una asociación local ha podido restaurar varios sitios de la fortaleza para uso público, todo gracias a la venta de entradas y al empleo de muchos voluntarios.
Pero aún hay mucho para descubrir ... aún se debe recuperar gran parte del sitio y este TRABAJO es posible gracias a todos los Visitantes que con su entrada contribuirán al renacimiento de este fabuloso sitio histórico.

In Castrocaro (Province of Forlì), we can see the evocative fortress, one of the largest Medieval castles in Italy. Here, the past is kept alive via fascinating re-enactments and falconry displays.
In the Province of Bologna, rather, we find Dozza, a splendid Medieval borgo characterized by sides both modern - with its unique contemporary art display of house facades painted by local artists - and ancient, given its impressive Rocca, or fortress.

Castrocaro Terme e Terra del Sole is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Forlì-Cesena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of Bologna and about 10 kilometres (6 mi) southwest of Forlì.
The comune consists of three small towns: Castrocaro, Terra del Sole and Pieve Salutare. Terra del Sole, founded as a 16th-century fortress by Cosimo I de' Medici, is believed to occupy the site of the ancient city of Solona, which lends its name to the town Terra del Sole.

Il Palio è l'occasione in cui la città con i suoi monumenti, i palazzi signorili, i cortili, le piazze e le strade fanno da sfondo e spazio scenico alle diverse contrade, con le loro corporazioni, i magistrati, i nobili, il clero e il popolo impegnati nella conquista di un prezioso panno ricamato o dipinto come un glorioso vessillo.

Buongiorno a tutti. Il Comitato Cittadino del Centro Storico di Castrocaro Terme ringrazia tutti coloro che hanno creduto in questa iniziativa, a cominciare dall'amministrazione comunale che si è dimostrata aperta a un progetto di Azione e Festa Popolare, sforzandosi di uscire dai soliti schemi classici che spesso immobilizzano le idee di innovazione e di rinnovamento.
Ringraziamo inoltre le associazioni di volontariato, la Pro Loco di Terra del Sole, i negozianti e tutti i privati che hanno contribuito economicamente e materialmente alla festa del Ponte dei Sogni. Ricordiamo che lo scopo del comitato è intervenire assieme sul degrado che da troppo tempo soffoca le grandi potenzialità in termini di benessere turistico e residenziale. Non lasciateci soli perchè questo è dovere di tutti e tutti indistintamente ne trarranno profitto.

Oh wow, this was an amazing experience! We were invited by the lovely Lialac group (of Florence) to come perform for their yearly Tanabata celebration. We drove down from Milano and couldn't believe our eyes when we arrived. Having the chance do calligraphy in this beautiful millennium old fortress was truly a joy.
Special thanks to the organizers, staff, and of course the dear owner of this remarkable structure.

This fantastic fortress was recently renovated and opened to the public after years of being abandoned/closed. It's simply gorgeous with lots of history and parts to explore. After a guided tour (in Italian only, for now) you can take in the views with glass of Sangiovese wine.

Un pò di storia di Romagna con, In ordine di apparizione
Castrocaro Terme,
- Fortezza Medievale - risale al 961, posata su un' antichissima scogliera sottomarina di età pliocenica (10 milioni di anni fa), formata da calcarei arenacei organogeni, ricchissimi di resti fossili marini di notevole interesse geologico.
Cesena,
- Ponte Clemente - (più comunemente Ponte Vecchio), deve il suo nome a papa Clemente XII, per volontà del quale fu costruito a partire dal 1732.
- Rocca Malatestiana - posta sulla sommità del Colle Garampo e circondata dal Parco della Rimembranza, è una fortezza nata per difendere la città di Cesena; l'attuale è la terza fortificazione costruita (1380) a poca distanza dalle rovine delle due precedenti di epoca tardo-romana e medievale.
