I had a little fun editing this one. Tired and now looking back I most likely had the beginnings of a cold, I trudge onward through Morehead, Ky. Pushing ever so slightly to the end of the trail.

Cave Run Lake is a 8,270 acre Army Corps of Engineers impoundment located within the Cumberland Ranger District, of the Daniel Boone National Forest, in Rowan, Morgan, Menifee and Bath Counties, Kentucky. This view is from the Lakeview Vista Overlook located just off of Route 801 next to the Musky Bend Fishing Area. From here, you are in Rowan County looking across the lake into Bath County. Cave Run Lake, and the surrounding woodlands, is an absolutely beautiful area and I will be exploring it in much greater detail in the months to come. Thanks for watching!
Sheltowee Trace 2: Morehead to Cave Run Lake, Clear Creek
This video depicts a southbound hike of the Sheltowee Trace, a recreational trail that traverses over 300 miles of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky and Tennessee. The section here is approximately 20 miles in length.
This is part 2 of a multi-part series that will encompass the entire length of the trail, which travels through the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, Natural Bridge State Resort Park, Cave Run Lake, Laurel River Lake, and the Red River Gorge, in additional to the Daniel Boone Forest, for which it is considered the backbone.
Hiking in Kentucky has serious risks and are not limited to dehydration, animal attacks, serious falls, exhaustion, hypothermia, etc. Getting lost will obviously exacerbate these risks, so always bring a compass and map... and of course watch and subscribe to our videos.

Cave Run Lake, KY running the river back to the main lake in May
While fishing on Cave Run Lake with Scott, we ran up the river to find the less-pressured fish, and it was quite an experience! There is submerged timber in the main river channel, so you have to know where the safe path is, and Scott's electronics weren't keeping up with the boat so we didn't know exactly where we were in relation to the marked dangerous stumps. On the way back out of the river, however, everything was working well, so we cruised safely back with no problems, and that is when I made this video. Scott says that due to the danger from the submerged timber, not as many people attempt going up that river, so I thought it would be interesting to do a little video showing it. This footage is sped up 4x to make the video shorter, the original footage before speed adjustments was 17 minutes long. May 11, 2019
