CAVE OF THE WINDS | ADVENTURE IN COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO
Cave of the Winds is a cave in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. It is located just west of Colorado Springs on U.S. Highway 24, near the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Tours of the complex of caves are given daily.
By far the most famous section of the Cave of the Winds is the Silent Splendor room. Discovered in 1984, the room contains numerous rare crystalline speleothems. Unfortunately, the room must be sealed off from the general public in order to maintain its delicate environment. Other names for the crystal formations are White Beaded Anthodite, Cave Coral, or Cave Flowers; also commonly considered to be Beaded Helectites which appear to defy the laws of gravity by growing in strange directions and not being forced down by gravity like many cave formations. Silent Splendor is sealed from public view by an Environmental Gate, a large tube made of PVC that seals in moisture to allow the area of the cave to continue forming.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings
A rare historical treasure, the authentic Manitou cliff dwellings of the Anasazi Indians were built more than 700 years ago. Preserved under a protective red sandstone overhang, you and your family can explore inside each dwelling, touch the sandstone and roam free through these architectural remnants of American Indian culture that roamed the Four Corners of Colorado.

Terror-Dactyl 2019, Cave of the Winds Mountain Park
Das Teil ist der Wahnsinn! Das muss man wirklich selbst erleben...
Cave of the Winds and the terror dactyl
We went to the cave of the winds and did a lantern tour. I felt it was probably better suited for younger kids that don't get scared easily. Loved the terror dactyl it was great!!!
