Baruch Open House
Nikki Roach: I am studying marsh birds in coastal South Carolina and I am looking at their distribution and abundance and using sea level rise models to determine how vulnerable they will be to habitat changes. A lot of marsh birds are stressed and vulnerable to changes in sea level rise, coastal development and storm severity so we are looking to find areas that are critical for conservation for these secretive species. We are using call playback surveys. We broadcast bird vocalizations throughout the marsh and we listen for them to call back. A lot of these birds are very secretive, they are not often seen but they are heard and so this is the best way to go about surveying for them. Baruch is a great resource for graduate students, I hope that more people come down here to do research and I think they are expanding a lot and creating a lot of great opportunities for Clemson students. I really enjoy working at Baruch, the people are great, the housing is wonderful, it has been really easy to work with the people. I have been stuck on a sandbar in the middle of the marsh and had one of the professors come to my aid and bring water and snacks, so they have been extremely helpful in all aspects of my research. Axel Morales: I am working in research with the pigment of the leaf and the relationship with the signature of the trees. And the signature is basically like a wavelength that the leaf transmits from the leaf. We cannot see it because it is not visible for human eyes but with a very specific camera that is called a hyper-spectral camera, I can actually capture those signatures for difference in the leaf so I can estimate the biodiversity of the forest. I am doing that because it is very important to quantity of species are in the forest. Some forest in the different part of the world are difficult to access so with this technique I can identify those species that are rare or endanger extinction. Jamie Duberstein: I have several research projects under way, including a project I have recently started that is funded by the U.S. Geologic Survey. The USGS Land Carbon Project aims to provide a national assessment of future potential carbon storage, greenhouse gas fluxes and estimation of local and regional scale ecosystem services such as recreation opportunities, providing wildlife habitat and nutrient cycling. The goal is to guide the management of lands owned by the Department of the Interior and my study site is located in the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia. The Dismal Swamp has one hundred and twelve thousand acres of forested wetlands that have been mostly drained via extensive ditches in order to provide land suitable for settlement and to harvest large tracts of Atlantic white cedar. The loss of cedar and lack of water causes the peat soils to literally evaporate as a result of decomposition of this primarily organic soil. The logging, draining and loss of peat drastically changed how the Dismal Swamp functions as a wetland. My colleagues and I are studying different forest types within Dismal Swamp in order to evaluate the amount of peat that has been lost, carbon cycling, green house gas release, rates of peat formation, nutrient cycling, growth rates of different trees and effects of fire management so that refuge staff
can better prescribe and evaluate their water management practices in those areas. This research is very applied with the primary goal of guiding the refuge so they can more effectively restore key areas with Atlantic white cedar habitat.
Lake Mattamuskeet
Located on the coastal plain, in Hyde County, North Carolina, Lake Mattamuskeet is North Carolina's largest natural lake. It was once the center of an Indian reservation established in 1715. Twice drained and farmed, it became a Wildlife refuge in 1934. The refuge, including the lake, comprises 50,180 acres and is home to 41 species of mammals, 24 amphibian species, 44 reptilian species and over 200 bird species.
The 40,000 acre lake is 18 miles in length and 7 miles in width, It varies in depth from 0.5 feet to 4 feet and averages a depth of 1.5 feet.

700 Pound Snake Pulled out of Lake in North Carolina
Giant 700 pound snake caught in lake in Proctor, North Carolina. The giant man eating python was measured at 98 feet long. Police were contacted to see if there have been any recently filed missing person reports as a snake this big could have surely eaten a human.
This giant snake is massive and just gorgeous, but it didn't take long to find out that the STORY behind it... was fake, just another hoax.
While the image is indeed real, I think the size of the giant snake could have been exaggerated due to the camera angle
Nevertheless, this snake is still huge, but where did it come from? The markings on it's skin looks similar to that of a reticulated python native to Southeast Asia. After playing around with a little Google translate, the mystery was finally solved.
This giant python came from Indonesia and after some rough translating, it turns out that it was discovered this last Thanksgiving near the village of Belinyu City. It was found by accident by a group of construction workers who severely injured the reptile while knocking down a large dead tree in which the python was sleeping inside of. The workers put the dying snake out of it's misery and buried it.
It's sad to see such an incredible animal killed, especially one that could have been a new world record size. I wish there were more pictures so we could get a better idea of just how large it was.
I really enjoyed learning about this amazing snake, if you guys have any cool wildlife stories or interesting animals that you think I might enjoy, tell me about it on Facebook

aug 30 satans helpers Ithaca NY geoengineering/ chemtrailing the crap out of us
Finger Lakes Region / Ithaca NY - GEOENGINEERED WEATHER a planet in crisis I am documenting the crimes against humanity/nature & the planet - chemtrail assaults please see MY VIDEO DIARY of the geoengineered weather here in Ithaca NY -THESE ARE HEAVY METAL NANO PARTICLES & CHEMICALS sprayed by the UN & military complex jets - chemical ASSAULTS by toxic chemical weapons from our military & our government please reference my videos I dont know how anyone can except this as normal - day in and day out of this heavy METAL PARTICLES -chemical shield that is being sprayed all over us and the planet . The weather is changed so drastically and there are droughts in half the country and floods in the other half - these are all MAN MADE WEATHER PATTERNS -
UNLESS YOU CARE ENOUGH ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR FAMILY TO DO AN HOUR OF RESEARCH ON GEOENGINEERING - HAARP - WEATHER MANIPULATION- CHEMTRAILING - WE DONT HAVE MUCH LONGER TO LIVE ON THIS PLANET .our food supply is in grave danger from this heavy metal /illuminum spraying, we are almost doomed because of you people who do nothing . WE MUST start picking up the phones - we can not last much longer like this .
weeks and weeks go by and we dont see the sun, it is behind a heavy chemical sheild, the sky full of chemical clouds, the jets are up there spraying constantly , this is not normal weather this is man made geoengineered weather ,the sun is almost never present , we must stop them mass attack which took over the whole sky with CHEMICAL SPRAY-monsanto has the only seeds GMO' that will grow in illuminum laden soils.

.
. It is hard to miss the jets spraying when the sky is clear , which is not often , but notice any time the sky is clear the JETS ARE SPRAYING MORE CHEMICALS & the results of what is being done to us by our government & our military cowards who fly these jets . We are all being poisened ( see the list of toxins below ) and the sun is being blocked from shining ( also hard to miss around here is the chemical haze of sky garbage that is sprayed by the aerosol sprays of the jets .
If you are a government shill and tell me these are contrails - you will be BLOCKED & DELETED FOR MIS-INFORMATION & LIES .
these are not contrails ( NON EXSISTANT ) ,these are CHEMTRAILS- please do 30 minutes of research and then spread the word , our children are being poisened , we have lost 90 NINTY percent of the bat popultaion and 1/3 of the bee population. we are going to lose the ability to grow food in the highly acidic soil this poisen is leaving behind .here is a list of the poisens , please educate yourself & your loved ones and anyone that will listen . thanks for watching
Laboratory examination of those chemicals found that they were manufacturing wastes from military industry and biowarfare substances. In several laboratory analyses, the composition of chemtrails was revealed:
1. Aluminum barium 2. Aluminum Oxide 3. Bacilli and Molds 4. Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
5. Pseudomonas Florescens 6. Bacilli Amyloliquefaciens 7. Streptomyces
8. Enterobacteriaceae 9. Serratia Marcscens
10. Human white Blood Cells-A restrictor enzyme used in research labs to snip and combine DNA
11. Enterobacter Cloacal
12. Other Bacilli and other toxic molds capable of producing heart disease and meningitis as well as acute upper respiratory and gastrointestinal distress.
13. Carcinogen Zinc Cadmium Sulfide.
After chemtrails lingered, spread, covered entire skies and fell, reports of illnesses increased substantially, such as persistent hacking coughs, upper respiratory and intestinal distress, pneumonia, fatigue, lethargy, dizziness, disorientation, headaches, aching joints and muscles, nosebleeds, diarrhea, bloody stools, depression, anxiety, loss of bladder control, and nervous tics. Much of it is reported as flu and everyone but a few know that much of it is poisons dropped over our heads, inhaled, absorbed through our skins, and consumed in our food.
