Hong Kong Street Food/Markets in Wan Chai/Causeway Bay
Hong Kong Street Market / Street Food - Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wanchai Street Market, Hong Kong (灣仔街市)
A quick walk around the main part of Wanchai market in Hong Kong, where locals buy food fresh every day, rather than go to supermarkets. Authentic HK life. Meat, fish, Fruit and Vegetables plus all other kinds of products (mainly clothes and flowers). Not really for tourists who want watches and handbags (better to go to Ladies Market, Mongkok for that). It is rumoured that this will all close soon to make way for more offices, flats and maybe yet another shopping mall!

HONG KONG TRAVEL GUIDE: WAN CHAI HONG KONG
Wan Chai Computer Market Hong Kong. Very expensive :-(
Any questions please email me at: NavSanya@gmail.com
Hong Kong is a shopping Mecca, and that metaphor holds true for lovers of electronics. But among the throngs of shops lining the streets of this concrete jungle, where do you start looking for the best prices and trustworthy vendors?
To find out where to buy phones, computers, cameras, and video games in Hong Kong, Tech in Asia sought the advice of locals and scoured Reddit for the most recommended places to get your gadget on. But before you set out on your journey, let’s start with a few guidelines to make your purchase go smoothly.
Contrary to popular belief, not everything is cheaper in Hong Kong. Compared to mainland China, yes, lower taxes result in most electronics being 20 to 30 percent less expensive. But for those coming from other countries, we highly recommend you look up prices on Price.com.hk. The website is all in Chinese, but it’s fairly straightforward. Nearly every consumer electronic product sold in Hong Kong can be found here, and you’ll get a good idea of how much you should be paying.
The specific shops are also listed, but there’s no guarantee that price will still be there by the time you walk in.
As a general rule, don’t buy extended warranties. Most warranties for goods sold in Hong Kong are only valid in Hong Kong, anyway. Keep that in mind if you’re coming from overseas.
Also for out-of-country buyers, do your research on electronics that might be region-locked. Are your games and DVDs in PAL or NTSC format? What bands does your smartphone use to connect to your local data network?
Steer clear the neon-clad shops in Tsim Tsa Shui. With a couple exceptions, these are notorious for scams.
Finally, unless you plan on purchasing from a major chain, have cash handy. Many places won’t accept credit cards, or they charge a premium for it.

Traditional Hong Kong Fast Food in the Street
Hongkong, Wan Chai - China Travel Channel
Wan Chai, a former fishing village is now a district of Hong Kong.
Here, right on Victoria Harbour, is the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong (formerly New World Harbour View Hotel). The pool of the hotel on the 11th floor is among the largest in Hong Kong.
The views over Kowloon was terrific, unfortunately in 1997, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center was built right in front of it. What remains is an overwhelming view from the hotel rooms over the Victoria Harbour with its people, boats and ships. The floor to ceiling windows convey the feeling to float over the port.
Wan Chai, attaining world fame by the film The world the Suzie Wong, has developed from a red light district to a business and financial center of Hong Kong.
As a pedestrian one moves over the streets on a pedestrian area with several floors. The enormous skyscrapers give the visitors the feeling to be an ant.

Wan Chai, ein ehemaliges Fischerdorf ist heute ein Stadtteil von Hongkong.
Hier, direkt am Victoria Harbour, liegt das Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong (ehemals New World Harbour View Hotel).

Hong Kong Street Market, Tai Yuen Street (Toys), Wan Chai. 香港灣仔太原街
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Hong Kong or other city only.
For those born before the 1980s, a walk down Tai Yuen Street is liable to bring on rushes of happy childhood memories. Some of the classic toys that were once made in Hong Kong and placed under Christmas trees around the world have survived here, nestled like treasures among the latest ‘thingamajigs’ that today’s kids go wild over.
Most toy manufacturing left Hong Kong for Mainland China in the 1980s, but the locals’ passion for kiddie collectables hasn’t died on this street, where everything from semi-precious limited edition figurines to the humble bottle of bubbles are available. This is also a great place to pick up festive decorations.
