STORYLINE:
Four French mountaineers died and two were injured after embarking on an expedition in the Italian Alps in poor weather.
The six set off on Wednesday at around four-thousand metres (13,000 feet) altitude on Mount Rosa, in northwestern Italy, on the Swiss border.
They had been expected at a shelter on Thursday morning but didn't appear.
Rescuers searched for the six all day on Thursday but failed to locate them, and had been planning to call off operations for the night.
But a brief improvement in weather allowed them to do a helicopter sweep, during which they found the bodies and survivors at around 4,225 metres (13,860 feet), the Italian ANSA news agency said.
ANSA said the six had fallen during their descent.
Adriano Favre, director of the Aosta Rescue Centre, said it had been a difficult operation.
He did not disclose the identities of the dead or injured.
The two survivors were seriously injured and have been transferred to a hospital in the city of Aosta, according to local reports.

Valenciennes Communal Military Cemetery, France
Video of this CWGC Cemetery in Valenciennes. CWGC say
The cemetery now contains 885 Commonwealth burials and commemorations of the First World War. 37 of the burials are unidentified. Special memorials commemorate 19 casualties who died as prisoners of war, of whom nine are buried here (Plot IV, Row A.) and ten at Le Quesnoy Communal Cemetery Extension, none of whom could be individually identified; all are therefore commemorated at both sites. Other special memorials record the names of seven soldiers buried in other cemeteries whose graves could not be found. The cemetery also contains 34 burials from the Second World War, all but one of them airmen. An interesting feature from the 1939-45 War, is a memorial tablet of white marble affixed to the outside wall of the shelter building, commemorating the Commission's former gardener, the late Robert Armstrong. An ex-Irish Guardsman, Mr. Armstrong held an Irish passport and, as a neutral, was allowed to continue at work in the cemetery after the outbreak of war. His sympathies impelled him to assist Allied soldiers and airmen to escape, and he was arrested by the Germans at the end of 1943. The original death sentence was commuted to 15 years imprisonment, and he was deported to Germany, dying at Waldheim Camp, Saxony, in December, 1944. For his help to Allied escapees he was posthumously awarded the Medaille de Resistance Francaise
We shall remember them.
Frozen human remains found near aircraft on Mont Blanc
Frozen human remains found near aircraft on Mont Blanc
Body parts that could belong to passengers killed in one or other of two Air India plane crashes that took place more than 50 years ago have been found in the French Alps.
Daniel Roche, who has spent years combing the Bossons Glacier on Mont Blanc looking for remains, made the discovery on Thursday.
He said he had 'never found any significant human remains before' but this time he had found a hand and the upper part of a leg.
Two major accidents have taken place at the site with more than 150 people killed in total.
In January 1966, an Air India Boeing 707 from Bombay to New York crashed near Mont Blanc's summit, killing all 117 people on board.
Another Air India flight crashed on the mountain in 1950, killing 48 people.
Mr Roche said the remains he had found could be of a female passenger from the 1966 Boeing 707 flight, as he also discovered one of the plane's four jet engines.
He contacted local emergency services in the Chamonix valley who took the remains down the mountain by helicopter.
They are now due to be examined by experts.
'These remains are probably not from the same person,' said Stephane Bozon of the local gendarmerie. 'They are probably from passengers, but between the two aircrafts, it's difficult to say'.
Just 10 days ago, two bodies were found lying near each other, preserved in a receding glacier in the Diablerets massif in the Swiss Alps.
A DNA search identified them as shoemake Marcelin Dumoulin, 40, and his wife Francine, a schoolteacher aged 37, who had disappeared in the Alps 75 years before.

Driving in the North of France Pt.1
This is another video of Normadie, or Normandy. (I see the word spelled both ways and I think both are correct). I went to visit the Normandie American Cemetery and Memorial. I was not allowed to take video inside at the time. It was a day after several world leaders attended a celebration and the security was very tight. I was able to take some photos thou.
Anyways, this the video when I was driving to visit the place. It is very moving and interesting.

Recommended place for anyone.
Please go to American cemetery and you will see how many people have had to sacrifice their lives to change the History. Very Sad. You will not laugh in that place. I didn't even use it in my video because it would be inappropriate.

There Are Two Ways to Get Up the Eiffel Tower: Smart or Stupid
If your time is worth anything (and I always assume my traveling readership has very valuable time), you must get a reservation to go up the Eiffel Tower. Here, looking down from the first level at the ground-level lines, it's clear: Those who just show up waste lots of time. Those who follow their guidebook's advice and book an entrance time in advance (it's easy) scoot right in.
