We sold our family car, put everything in storage, and boarded our plane December 1, 2015 and arrived in Chiang, Mai, Thailand on December 3, 2015. It was opened to the public within four years of starting construction, making it the fastest completed metro project in India until the Lucknow Metro overtook it.The Kochi metro project is the first metro in the country which connects rail, road and water transport facilities.

Designs of Changampuzha park station
The metro station at Changampuzha park is arriving with a never before seen mixture of tradition and sophistication. This truly out of the box initiative of the Kochi Metro Rail offers a sneak peek on the rich and traditional art forms of Kerala. The glory of rich culture that has bred all of us can be savored to the hilt in this stand out place that plays host to a handful of original ideas.
The interior and exterior of metro stations show similar designs while the doorways are unique and different for each station. As inspired from the beauty and uniqueness of God’s Own Country blessed with its diverse nature and wide landscapes, station interiors hold the theme of Western Ghats.
Kochi Metro Rail’s design consultancy Tata Elxsi has made sure that the commuters are given maximum comfort and convenient in the structuring and designing of the station and coaches.

Trip starts from changampuzha park in edapally in ernakulam district of kerala state in India.
relax for a while in the park . then proceed to the changampuzha park metro station , which is very nearby .
alight at vyttila metro station , and move to vyttila mobility hub , walkable distance only .
have some refreshments from there . you can enjoy the local made snacks there in the mobility hub .
before having refreshments , please check the boat timings .
start your boat trip and enjoy the backwaters .
it will be better to return back in the same boat from kakkanad .as the connectivity from kakkanad to ernakulam by road might be tiresome , as the boat jetty is a little far from the next bus stop .

The Kochi Metro is set to become India’s eighth inter-city metro rail project on Saturday. It is 13-km long and has been built at a cost of Rs 5,181-crore. The metro is to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It will span 25 kilometres across 22 stations. But now working only 16 stations.

The City of Ernakulam features a Tropical monsoon climate.
