Joy City is the biggest mall in Xidan, this 13-story complex comes equipped with the world’s longest escalator, the largest digital cinema in China and the largest cosmetic shop in Beijing.
Inside the mall, people are amazed by the huge voids decorated in a variety of themes as they stretch up toward the heavens. Above the 7 floors of retail space, the building then provides apartment and hotel accommodation.

-Take bus 1, 52, 70, 83, 17 Express or Night Bus 1 to Xidan Lukou Dong.
-Take bus 15, 22, 88, 102, 105, 109, 332, Te 13, Night Bus 4 or 10 to Xidan Lukou Nan.
-Take bus 46 to Xidan Shangchang.
2.Subway
Take subway line 1 or line 4 and get off at Xidan Station. One should get out from the exits F1 or F2.

4. Grand Pacific Mall( 君太百货 )
Introduction: Grand Pacific Mall is eight-storied. Floor 1- 7 are mainly shopping sites, and B1 is a dinning zone providing delicious food. On the floor 1 and 2 mainly sell world famous branded cosmetics, gold jewelry and watches. Clothes, handbags, shoes and ornaments for girls can be purchased on the floor 3, 4 and 5. Floor 6 mainly serves men’s suits, ties, shoes, belts and watches; office supplies also can be found here. If visitors want to buy sports products, they should go to Floor 7, where various branded clothes and shoes are sold.

Beijing Mall Mass-Stabbing (China)
On Sunday the 11th of February 2018 at approximately 1:00 p.m., A woman was killed & 12 other people injured after a man carried out a knife rampage attack at Joy City mall in Xidan district, Beijing, China.
The knife attack happened at around 1pm at Joy City in the busy commercial area of Xidan, because Chinese law tightly restricts the sale & possession of firearms, mass attacks are generally carried out with knives or homemade explosives.
The suspect has been arrested. Police identified him as a 35-year-old surnamed Zhu from the northern province of Henan.
The man had already confessed to carrying out the attack to express his discontent, police added, without elaborating.
Beijing radio showed pictures on their WeChat account of blood spattered on the floor in a part of the mall, & at least one injured person being taken from the scene.
In one piece of footage that appeared to be surveillance video of a restaurant, a man could be seen lunging at someone seated at a table with what seemed to be a knife. People scrambled to get away, flipping tables and pushing chairs at the man. The video could not be independently verified.
In a video posted on Twitter, shoppers were seen running towards an exit, and a trail of blood was left behind by an injured man.

A short film I slapped together this afternoon. It features one of my favorite places during my stay in Beijing, the Joy City mall in the Xidan shopping district. The arcades and sheer amount of stuff packed into this place was amazing. All 12 floors were packed with toys, clothes, video games, movies and food. I seriously spent 6-7 hours just wandering through all of it. Music: Dream Master by Random and K-Murdock from the album Forever Famicom.

Finding subway station in BEIJING: Walk Through
It was my 1st day in Beijing. As soon as I checked in the hotel, We just started to walk out. And since my Uber APP doesn't work in Beijing, I was just walking with good map and try to get to the nearest subway. I was like a 15 min walk but very excited
Beijing Super 8 Hotel - Dong Si
The Super 8 Hotel Dong Si is one of a number of Super 8 Hotels in Beijing. It is very close to 2 subway stations, and a shopping street which has some nice restaurants, fast food outlets and a supermarket. The supermarket is very handy for purchasing snacks for day excursions and food/drink gifts for family and friends. I have stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed.
The chain of the Super 8 hotels in China offer a consistent level of satisfaction for travellers. Comfortable clean 'warm' rooms, friendly staff always willing to help, and all at a very reasonable price. Remember to ask for a VIP card and receive a 12% discount.

Beijing shopping mall catches fire
Photos show a fire breaking out near the top of the Joy City mall in Beijing's Chaoyang District. The fire was later extinguished. Firefighters said the fire originated from the kitchen of the restaurant on the mall's sixth floor.
