Mausoleum Row at Mt Mora
This isn't one of my smoothest videos but it does show some very interesting design work that went into the mausoleums at Mt Mora Cemetery in St Joseph, Mo. Lots of Egyptian style architecture as well as Roman Greco styling. It's one of the most unusual and unique burial places in the United States. Lots of history in a very small space. I've been wanting to do this video for a very long time.
Alkaline Hydrolysis Unit Tour
Jeff Edwards of Edwards Funeral Service in Columbus, Ohio is a pioneer in the use of alkaline hydrolysis as a green disposition method. He provides an in-depth tour of the Aquamation unit that he has used for low-cost, low-energy use dispositions.
He used the unit for 12 dispositions early in 2012, then was halted by the state because alkaline hydrolysis is not listed as a valid final disposition method. Currently only burial and cremation can be used by a funeral home for listing on death certificates. As of November 1, 2012, the state of Ohio continues to ban the use of this new disposition method.
He is interviewed by @Gail Rubin: Gail Rubin, CT, The Doyenne of Death®, a pioneering death educator, speaker, author and coordinator of the Before I Die New Mexico Festival.
Mausoleum photo tour
This is a neat Mausoleum built back in the 1920's. I love the way it is laid out with the ceilings and chapel and other interesting things throughout.. I've been in this place in the early morning hours before and I'll hear noises echoing through this tomb like you would swear others were in this sarcophagus. But the best I can figure it is just the traffic outside and the way the noise carries through the stone lined halls.
There are some pictures of some of the rooms that are in this place. Some of it looks like storage and for cleaning supplies and the caretakers room downstairs.
The elevator was out of order. I have never rode the elevator in this place of repose and have no intentions of starting anytime soon.
There is one picture where there is a cup with a piece of paper (the bill) taped to it. The cup is sitting beside a book type urn. This guy's family (Roger Lee Givens 1908-1988) never finished paying the bill so it looks like they left him in the cup! The amount on the remaining bill was $52.95 back in 1988. The wife died a year or two later but it looks like she made it to her urn.
The old saying life isn't fair . . . well some things in death just isn't fair either.

NEW 2017 Mowrey Hydraulic Elevator at Florida Hospital Ice Center, Wesley Chapel, FL
Filmed June 2018.
Just like the Lexus Dealer, for a Mowrey, this is INCREDIBLY NICE with European/Austrailian style Dewhurst fixtures. This one looks nearly identical to the one at Lexus dealer, but it has the older Mowrey indicator and voice that the one at the Best Western in Wesley Chapel has (that one is from 2006) and this one's buttons actually push in deeply, unlike Lexus, so you can tell this one is a bit older, but just like the Lexus dealer, it's pretty nice and impressive quality considering this is a Mowrey. Maybe they're turning a new leaf, in a good way, unlike most elevator companies, and maybe Mowrey's days of ripping off other companies and making cheap crappy elevators are over, idk. But anyways, that all being said, enjoy the video, and let's ride this Nice New Mowrey as this huge and fun Ice Skating rink in the constantly growing town of Wesley Chapel!

Watch Christian Bale Burn Rubber in ‘Ford v Ferrari’ | Anatomy of a Scene
How do you go about recreating a 24-hour auto race for a movie? If you’re the director James Mangold, meticulously.
His latest film, “Ford v Ferrari,” takes place in the mid-1960s as the Ford Motor Company is trying to come up with a car that can beat out Ferrari in the Le Mans auto race. The American executives bring on the car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and the driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) to aid in that task.
This scene takes place at the beginning of the 1966 edition of the race as Miles is preparing. Narrating the sequence, Mangold said that he wanted to use the camera following Miles down a hallway and then out to the track as a technique to reveal the spectacle of the race, with overwhelming crowds and a heightened energy.
The race starts the same way Le Mans used to actually begin, with the drivers standing across the track from their cars, then running over and leaping into the vehicles before pulling out. Mangold said the moment, captured in one shot, was a challenge to coordinate but was important to give a sense of authenticity to the scene.
He said he shot as much of the action as possible with real cars and stunt drivers, using visual effects not as much for the racing moments, but more to populate the stands so the production wouldn’t need 20,000 extras each day.
Read the “Ford v Ferrari” review.
