This is also a great place for trekking. Many people come across these waterfalls on the way to Munnar and it is slowly turning into a tourist hotbed. There is a dense growth of trees all around and several rare species of plants and animals can be seen in the vicinity. The Cheeyappara Waterfalls gush down in seven tiers and area truly spectacular sight to behold. Valara Waterfalls are known for the lush greenery surrounding it and is a lovely picnic location.

We a gang of 3 friends started our trip from Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District. First we planned to travel the trip in our bikes. Then we changed our ideas & we just took our car and started our trip, that's due heavy rain in Kerala (a few days before of Kerala flood). The travel started by evening on 2nd of august and we travelled through Trivandrum and reached thiruvalla at night and stayed at one of our partners home. Since the rain has been resting at those days (02.08.2018 - 06.08.2018) we visited and there was few rainfalls at some places. A week after our visit to Kerala, the state was affected with the most devastating flood of this generation and after a period of 94 years that's since 1924. It just flipped over the Gods own country (Kerala) and the made the humanity of people all around the world to show up.
Day 1 (Cheeyappara Waterfalls) :
Then we started travelling early morning and moved to idukki district. There we reached the Cheeyappara Waterfall which is located on the Kochi - Madurai Highway (National Highway 49), between Neriamangalam and Adimali. It is in Idukki district, Kerala, India.The Cheeyappara Waterfall cascades down in seven steps. It's an wonderful scene to visit and there were plenty of waters falling through it since we went in an extreme rainy season

Cheeyappara waterfalls is one of the attractions on the adimaly route. One cannot get into the Waterfalls. We can just have the view from it's roadside. There are some nearby shops. It's a nice view and is a photography spot on the way to Munnar. Public transport facilities are available since it is on the highway NH 185.
