Alaska 2019 Highlights - Disney Cruise Line
Greetings from the Disney Wonder in Alaska!
We've just recently disembarked from a 7-night Alaskan cruise (embarked on June 10th) with the Disney Wonder and it was probably one our best cruises yet! The breathtaking views, the world class entertainment, the exquisite foods, and all of the magic that comes with a Disney Cruise is nothing short of spectacular. Disney far exceeds expectations when it comes to cruises and whether it is your first time or many, there is always something amazing to experience here. A huge thank you to Jolene and Kristy for inviting my family to sail with them!
What you just saw was pretty much roughly eight days worth of content compressed into a few minutes! We were actually pretty nervous because the weather reports were 90% chance of rain, but in the end it wasn’t too bad and got plenty of sunlight! Please check out my IG at if you haven't yet for more photos/videos!
Please like, comment and share! ????
Cruise Itinerary:
Day 1 - Vancouver
Day 2 - At Sea
Day 3 - Dawes Glacier
Day 4 - Skagway
Day 5 - Juneau
Day 6 - Ketchikan
Day 7 - At Sea
Day 8 - Vancouver
Cruise Tips
- If unsure about getting nauseous at sea, pack non-drowsy Dramamine. Usually won't feel any swaying unless the ship is cruising faster than 12+ knots. DCL ships have state of the art stabilizers to minimize it's roll axis when its at sea.
- Highly recommend packing windbreakers, thermals, and/or raincoats. Pretty much having a weatherproof jacket suffices.
- Pack a travel bottle (aka Yeti/Hydroflask) or similar to fill up with beverages from the quick service on Deck 9 (remember to use a clean cup to fill the bottles for Public Health compliance).
- Don't over-pack clothing: There are 24-hour self- service laundry machines (washer and dryer) available. Pack for four days = more room for goodies!
- Get to know your dinner team and stateroom host! They will be assigned to your for the duration of your cruise.
- Bring cash with you for tipping tour guides in Alaska.
Dawes Glacier Tips
- Deck 4 Starboard (or Deck 10 Forward) for the best view for approach to the glacier then the ship will rotate so that everyone on Port side can also see.
- Have binoculars ready to search for whales diving or seals hanging out on icebergs.
Skagway Tips
- If there's an option, bus ride up to Canada border and take the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad down back to town (and sit on the right side of the train for best view).
- You might spot bigfoot along the way.
- We booked through Chilkoot Charters & Tours for this excursion.
Juneau Tips
- Though amazing to see in action, the tramway being $35 was not worth the price.
- When at the Mendenhall Glacier, take the Nugget Falls hike to get a closer look. It was about 15 minutes of a walk each way with slight elevations.
- We booked our excursions with Juneau Whale Watch! Shoutout to Captain Kevin and Guide Marina for the once in a lifetime experience and knowledge of the sea creatures. Not only were we able to see a baby whale breach, the glass-like waters in the middle of the channel was an amazing sight.
Ketchikan Tips
- The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show. YO-HO! Arrive 15-30 minutes before doors open (15 minutes to showtime). The performances run rain or shine throughout the day.
- Visit the Creek Street down the street from the docks! Cute little stores and coffee shops that ends at a Salmon ladder.
Shoutout to the castmembers making dreams come true on the Disney Wonder:
Captain Daniele Ashero
Cruise Director Natalie Bailey

2018: A Year Well Spent on Chilkoot Lake - Haines, Alaska
Better late then never, it's my version of the 2018 YouTube rewind. I can't say that the budget was as high, or that the equipment is as nice. What I can say, though, is that my 2018 recap has Waldo World flair that you just can't find anywhere else.
Now, sit back, relax, and spend the next 5 minutes reminiscing the shear beauty that 2018 possessed, including Waldo World!
My goal for 2019 is 20 videos! THAT'S A LOT OF VIDEOS!!!

Klondike Alaska: A Rail History
For most people, railroads in Alaska and the Yukon are synonymous with the Alaska Railroad and the White Pass and Yukon Railroad whose passenger cars provide tourists with vistas of awe-inspiring terrain. That same terrain provided enormous challenges for early settlers of both territories. Railroads were an integral part of overcoming those challenges. Dozens of other railroads also laid track in Alaska, the Yukon, and northwest British Columbia and provided the means to transport supplies to settlements and to transport the region’s raw materials to outside markets. Klondike Alaska charts the history of many of those railroads. ©KUAC 2005

Yukon
Yukon /ˈjuːkɒn/ is the westernmost and smallest of Canada's three federal territories. Whitehorse is the territorial capital and Yukon's only city.
The territory was split from the Northwest Territories in 1898. Receiving royal assent on March 27, 2002, the federal government modernized the Yukon Act to confirm Yukon as the current standard, though Yukon Territory remains the more popular usage. Though officially bilingual (English and French), the Yukon Government also recognizes First Nations languages.

Norwegian Bliss Inside Cabin Tour l CRUISE VLOG
Time for a tour of inside room, 11427, onboard the Norwegian Bliss! This room can hold up to three people. Though other inside rooms can hold two to four people which look exactly the same as this! If you have a inside room that holds four, the fourth bed woud be on the wall above the other bed. This room reminded me a lot of the inside room I had on the Norwegian Breakaway. I felt the room was pretty small and could not imagine three, let alone four adults in it. Of course, that's possible, though I personally, wouldn't do it. I felt like two people in the room was enough! LOL! As always, make sure to watch in HD for the best video quality! Hope you enjoy! :)

SUMMARY
=======
Yukon ( (listen); French: [jykɔ̃]; also commonly called the Yukon) is the smallest and westernmost of Canada's three federal territories (the other two are the Northwest Territories and Nunavut). It has the smallest population of any province or territory in Canada, with 35,874 people. Whitehorse is the territorial capital and Yukon's only city.
Yukon was split from the Northwest Territories in 1898 and was originally named the Yukon Territory. The federal government's Yukon Act, which received royal assent on March 27, 2002, established Yukon as the territory's official name, though Yukon Territory is also still popular in usage and Canada Post continues to use the territory's internationally approved postal abbreviation of YT. Though officially bilingual (English and French), the Yukon Government also recognizes First Nations languages.
At 5,959 m (19,551 ft), Yukon's Mount Logan, in Kluane National Park and Reserve, is the highest mountain in Canada and the second-highest on the North American continent (after Denali in the U.S. state of Alaska). Most of Yukon has a subarctic climate, characterized by long cold winters and brief warm summers. The Arctic Ocean coast has a tundra climate.
Notable rivers include the Yukon River (after which the territory was named), as well as the Pelly, Stewart, Peel, White, and Tatshenshini rivers.
Want To Visit Alaska With Andy Albright? | The Alliance
The Alliance is going to Alaska, and Andy Albright wants you to be there with us !
Do you want to go? 2019 is the year, you can step up by helping families, win a trip to Alaska and get paid on top of all that!
It's the last great frontier, filled with ice glaciers, amazing creatures and nature like no place in the world. This trip will take you to Seattle, Washington where you will board Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas, which will take you to Alaska's inner passage.
What are the main ports you'll enjoy during this first-class cruise?
In 2020, The Alliance takes the Great Alaskan Frontier Cruise to Seattle, Wash.; Juneau, Alaska; Skagway, Alaska; and Victoria, British Columbia.
For full contest details, visit NAALeads.com/contests.
The trip will start off in Seattle, Washington in the Emerald City, named for its verdant forests and parks. Explore the Northwest landscape at Discovery Park, stroll along Elliott Bay at the Olympic Sculpture Park, seek out the Seattle Center, home of the Space Needle or check out the Museum of Pop Culture.
You’ll join your Alliance family on one of the world’s most innovative ships, Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas. The ship is filled with edge-of-your-seat entertainment and dining that defies the imagination. Enjoy experiencing the waves on the FlowRider surf simulator, take in the view from 300-feet up from the North Star, feel the thrill of free-falling on RipCord by iFly and sip hand-crafted cocktails paired with surreal views in Two70.
Then, it’s off to Alaska!
Juneau is the largest U.S. state capital— and one of the hardest to get to. Flanked by mountains, tundra and rainforests, it’s basically inaccessible except by air or sea.
Once you arrive you’ll find adventure in every corner. Go dogsledding over Mendenhall Glacier, or prospecting along centuries-old mining trails. In Juneau, the thrills are as endless as the surrounding wilderness.
Watch for humpback whales, orcas, harbor seals, and Steller sea lions as you cruise through the icy Alaskan waters on a charter boat.
Since its Klondike Gold Rush Days, Skagway has served as an outpost for thrilling Alaskan adventure. Take an old-time street car ride along bustling Broadway Street and get lost in riveting historical reenactments. Here you’ll also discover plenty of ways to amp up the adrenaline, from dog-sledding on Laughton Glacier to rafting Lynn Canal, the longest fjord in North America. Known as “the world’s longest outdoor museum,” Chilkoot Trail encompasses 33 miles of hiking trails. Follow in the footsteps of Klondike stampeders as you trek through dense rainforest, enjoy incredible scenery, and discover the Gold Rush ghost town of Dyea. This is the ultimate outdoor challenge.
One of Alaska’s lesser-known gems, Endicott Arm Fjord marks the southern edge of Fords Terror Wilderness area. As you drift through its 30-mile-long stretch, you can’t help but be awed by the surrounding granite cliffs, mountain valleys and dozens of gushing waterfalls. Keep your eyes peeled for harbor seals splashing in icy waters near the ship. Along the shore you might also glimpse brown bears, bald eagles, sea ducks, deer, moose and wolves.
Your journey through scenic Endicott Arm Fjord ends with a front-row view of Dawes Glacier. Standing over 600 feet tall and a half-mile wide, this very active icecap is known for its spectacular calving displays which produce huge, chunky icebergs.
As one of the oldest cities in the Pacific Northwest, Victoria delivers a delightful blend of romantic British pomp and outdoor Canadian pursuits. Culture seekers and adventure junkies alike get their fill at the southern end of Vancouver Island. Here you can admire traditional Victorian architecture at Craigdarroch Castle and eat your way around Canada’s oldest Chinatown.
Kick off the afternoon lunching on xiaolongbao buns in Chinatown.
Get into some active adventure, whether it’s water-biking False Creek or mountain-biking the North Shore. Head to Robson Street for mainstream chain stores, or hit the quirky indie shops of Gastown, Main Street and Commercial Drive.
Lonsdale Quay Market is home to 80 unique shops, while Granville Island’s art studios sell First Nations carvings and jewelry. Evenings are best spent dining and drinking in Yaletown’s hip warehouse district.
