MALTA: Chinese Garden Of Serenity, Santa Luċija
At the village of Santa Luċija in Malta, we find the Garden of Serenity which is an elegant classical garden with exquisite pavilions, corridors, fountains and ponds.
The Chinese Garden of Serenity (Ġnien is-Serenità) is a public Chinese garden, a project aided by the Chinese Government. The garden was constructed in the early 1990s.
The elements in the Chinese Garden are rocks & water, which feature prominently. They symbolise all that forms part of the basis of nature, the Yin &Yang. The fountain near the entrance of the garden represents the Figure of birth.
The other elements within the Chinese Garden that symbolise the active life. The winding corridor at the northern end of the garden represents the windings and challenges of life, the Bamboo Garden represents contemplation and the great hall which represents community.
A number of prominent Chinese leaders have planted flowers at the Chinese Garden of Serenity.

The Chinese Garden of Serenity is a lovely Chinese Garden situated in Santa Lucija in the South of Malta and has been open to the public since 1997. The Chinese Garden of Serenity reflects the local environment by including natural elements and represents various philosophical ideas.
The Chinese Gardens encourage visitors to walk around while roaming freely in their inner thoughts. The most important elements of the Chinese Garden of Serenity are rocks and water which creates a beautiful and very peaceful garden and also symbolises yin and yang, life from birth to death.The garden has fountains, a zig zag formed corridors, bridges, different types of doors with their own specific meaning.
Walking around the garden you will discover that the garden is in fact not one large garden but instead several smaller gardens, separated by walls, sheltered corridors and rooms for visitors to be able to go between one thought to another in each garden.
Visiting the Chinese Garden gives you the opportunity for some soul searching in a tranquil environment soaking up the ambience that surrounds the garden.

Chinese New Year in Malta
Valletta celebrated Chinese New Year – it's the year of the monkey. Chinese presents in Malta dates for some time but only since 1970s is more significant. Malta was one of the first countries who let Great Dragon to do business in Europe. They build Freeport, tunnels, dock yard, provided buses and opened numerous other establishments (one minister has a Chinese wife). Among all those ties the best is Garden of Serenity a real Chinese Garden situated in tiny St Lucia. Cobblestones paths, a lake, golden fishes, huts make you feel like in Chinese hamlet.
