चितई गोलू देवता मंदिर
चितई में गोलू देवता का मंदिर स्थित है। यह मंदिर अल्मोड़ा से छह किलोमीटर दूर है। इन्हें न्याय का प्रतीक माना जाता है। इनके बारे में यह मान्यता है कि जिसको कहीं पर भी न्याय नहीं मिले वो इनके दरबार में अर्जी लगाये तो उससे तुरन्त न्याय मिल जाता है।
सड़क से चंद कदमों की दूरी पर ही गोलू देवता का भव्य मंदिर बना हुआ है। मंदिर परिसर में हरे-भरे पेड़, टंगी हुई असंख्य छोटी-बड़ी घंटियां और अर्जियां लोगों को आकर्षित करती हैं।

अल्मोड़ा जिले में स्थित श्री चितई गोलू देवता, मंदिर विश्व भर में प्रसिद्ध है। आस्था, न्याय और विश्वास के प्रतीक के रूप में श्री गोलू देवता का यह मंदिर पूरे प्रदेश में खासकर कुमाऊँ क्षेत्र में विशेष रूप से चर्चित है। हर साल लाखों श्रद्धालु दूर दूर से यहाँ दर्शन के लिये आते हैं। गोलू देवता के इस मंदिर में भक्तजन अपनी मुरादों को लेकर आते हैं और अपनी मनोकामना को पूरी करवाने के लिये गोलज्यू के नाम चिट्ठी लिखते हैं जो इसके प्रांगण में देखि जा सकती हैं....मनोकामना पूरी होने पर भक्त पुनः इस दरबार में आकार गोलू देवता को घांट(घंटी) भी चड़ाते हैं।

जिला मुख्यालय अल्मोड़ा से आठ किलोमीटर दूर पिथौरागढ़ हाईवे पर न्याय के देवता कहे जाने वाले गोलू देवता का मंदिर स्थित है, इसे चितई ग्वेल भी कहा जाता है | सड़क से चंद कदमों की दूरी पर ही एक ऊंचे तप्पड़ में गोलू देवता का भव्य मंदिर बना हुआ है। मंदिर के अन्दर घोड़े में सवार और धनुष बाण लिए गोलू देवता की प्रतिमा है। उत्तराखंड के देव-दरबार महज देवी-देवताओं की पूजा-अर्चना, वरदान के लिए ही नहीं अपितु न्याय के लिए भी जाने जाते हैं | यह मंदिर कुमाऊं क्षेत्र के पौराणिक भगवान और शिव के अवतार गोलू देवता को समिर्पत है । ऐसी मान्यता है कि इस मंदिर का निर्माण चंद वंश के एक सेनापति ने 12वीं शताब्दी में करवाया था।

Golu Devata or Lord Golu or God Of Justice (Hindi: गॊलू दॆवता) is the legendary mythological and historical God of the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand state of India and is their deity.

Jageshwar Dham is a Group of 125 Ancient Temples, located amidst of Deodar Forest in Almora, in the Himalayan Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is sought to be one of the Oldest Shiv Temple dated back to 5th to 11th Century.
Jageshwar is a Hindu pilgrimage town and one of the Dhams (pilgrimage region) in the Shaivism tradition. Jageshwar was once the center of Lakulish Shaivism, likely by monks and migrants who left the plains of the Indian subcontinent from places such as Gujarat and settled in the high mountains. The resemblance between Kumaoni language and Gujarati language probably hints at the fact that followers of Lakulish settled at Jageshwar.
The site is protected under Indian laws, and managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It includes Dandeshwar Temple, Chandi-ka-Temple, Jageshwar Temple, Kuber Temple, Mritunjaya Temple, Nanda Devi or Nau Durga, Nava-grah temple, a Pyramidal shrine, and Surya Temple. It is a National Heritage where an ongoing research by the ASI is revealing new mystery surrounding the Temple every day.
It is in the time of the Katyuri of Central Himalaya that the construction of temple activities has taken place in the large scale and perhaps the temple of the Jageshwar have been reconstructed time and time again by different Rulers and Kings of different time in the present temple form.
The origins of the Jageshwar temples site are unclear. Its remote location has limited its studies and scholarly attention. The site shows evidence of different architectural styles and building periods for both temples and stone steles, which range from the 7th to the 12th century,

Famous Temple of Chitai Golu in Almora Chitai Temple is dedicated to Gollu Devta, an incarnation of Gaur Bhairav. Situated 8kms from Almora the deity of this sacred temple is reputed to make every wish come true, provided the worshipper ask for it with a clear conscience. All he asks for in propitiation is a bell, as was evident from the thousands of bells strung across the temple premises. Anyone can even seek Gollu Devtas divine intervention by writing to him. Stacks of letter are pinned all over the temple along with bells.
