The second part of our Hokkaido Roadtrip features our visit to Cape Kamui, Otaru, Biei, and Moerenuma Park in Sapporo. There are more tourists than usual since we filmed it during the Golden Week Holiday in Japan.
• Cape Kamui requires a lot of walking and climbing both up and down the steep cliff with strong winds. So if you plan to go there, it’s better to wear comfortable clothes. The view was breathtaking. My words aren’t even enough to describe how beautiful it was. The cliffs, ocean, the rocks, and the view of the snowy mountains at the back. It was amazing. After the walk from the view point, we treat ourselves with a “Shakotan Blue Soft-serve Ice Cream” which they sell near the gift shop. ▶️
•We had lunch at Shokudou Ushio 食堂うしお which I think was the closest restaurant from the view point. Their fresh “Uni” (sea urchin) is a must try! ▶️
•Otaru is famous for its glassworks and music box. It’s nice to visit a music box museum where you can see vintage music box items. ▶️
•Biei is a town surrounded by fields, green hills, and mountains. The time we went there spring literally just started so there wasn’t much greens to see. I heard summer is the best season to visit. We visited the Shirogane Blue Pond which has a very peculiar bluish colored water, then Shirahige Water Falls, and Farms Chiyoda. ▶️
Moeranuma Park in Sapporo is a huge park with several artificial landscapes. You can see a beautiful panoramic view of Sapporo on top of the manmade hill. ▶️
