Knapp's Castle Santa Barbara, CA Walkthrough
Today I took a small hike up to Knapp's Castle and had a look around. This is a really unique place and it is a short hike for pretty much anyone. I shot the video using the #Kodak #PixPro360 and my #iPhone6plus with the #indiesolo smartphone stabilizer from #gripgear. Hope you enjoy my video and please head over to my website and enter your email address so you stay up to date on everything that I am working on. Stay tuned as there is a lot of cool new videos coming soon!
Here is some info and history from Wiki:
George Owen Knapp, founder of Union Carbide, built Knapp's Castle shortly after purchasing the 160-acre (0.65 km2) parcel in 1916. In 1940, Frances Holden bought the property and invited her friend, world-famous opera singer Lotte Lehmann, to move in. The mansion was destroyed by a forest fire only five weeks later, and now only the massive sandstone foundations, fireplace pillars and walls of the original seven structures remain intact. The parcel is still privately owned but open to the public.
In January 2011, the site was undergoing new construction by the property owner, with a stone amphitheatre-style addition, some reinforcements, and other work. The county ordered a stop to the construction due to a lack of permits, but the construction equipment remains on site.

Native American Pictographs!!! In the Squatch Zone!
Lets go hiking!!! We were invited to a private ranch to check out some old native american pictographs and acorn grinding holes. Dont know how old they are, or what tribe put them there. This area has longtime reports of UFO's and Bigfoot, and there is stories from way back to present of a Giant bird!
The place had a kinda creepy feeling....kinda like being watched the whole time. The Sasquatch could have been watching us easily from anywhere with all those boulders and hiding places.

Petroglyphs of the native Americans inside Joshua Tree National Park in California 100_2080.MOV
You must visit this place. It you are young or old, athletic or handicapped, you will be able to reach this beautiful place in the Southern California desert. You can drive right in to the parking lot and walk less than half a mile to get to the petroglyphs.
There are bathrooms for your comfort. The walk is very flat. Just mind the weather. Check before you go for the heat, or cold. The area has a dramatic change of temperature during the year, and can also have a large swing from day to night. Take a sweater in the winter, or a coat if there are clouds in the sky.
