Το Εμπόριο είναι ένα χωριό της επαρχίας Εορδαίας, έδρα του δήμου Μουρικίου στο Νομό Κοζάνης. Είναι χτισμένο στην ανατολική πλευρά του ομώνυμου δασωμένου βουνού σχεδόν κρυμμένο μέσα στην καστανόφυτη και πευκόφυτη βουνοπλαγιά. Τα λίγα ακόμη σωζόμενα Μακεδονίτικα σπίτια, η γραφική πλατεία, οι στενοί δρομίσκοι με τις βρύσες και ο Ναός του Αγίου Μηνά, πολιούχου και προστάτη του χωριού, δημιουργούν στον επισκέπτη την εντύπωση ενός παλιού ιστορικού χωριού. Το Εμπόριο είναι ενωμένο οικιστικά με την Αναρράχη.
Ο ναός φέρει το όνομα του Αγίου Μεγαλομάρτυρα Μηνά και γιορτάζει στις 11 Νοεμβρίου και χτίστηκε στα θεμέλια παλαιού ναού το έτος 1815 .
Ο ρυθμός του ναού είναι τρίκλιτη Βασιλική με ξύλινη στέγη.
Ο μεγαλύτερος πλούτος του ναού είναι οι αγιογραφίες του που διακρίνονται σε κινητές και ακίνητες και χωρίζονται σε τέσσερις κατηγορίες.
α)Βυζαντινής τεχνοτροπίας που χρονολογούνται από το 1540 έως το 1574.
β)Μακεδονικής τεχνοτροπίας δηλαδή ανάμεικτης βυζαντικής τέχνης και αναγεννησιακής τεχνοτροπίας, είναι οι εικόνες του τέμπλου που χρονολογούνται από το 1815 έως το 1850.
γ)Εικόνες που έφεραν οι πόντιοι πρόσφυγες το 1924 από την Αργυρούπολη του Πόντου και χρονολογούνται από το 1905 έως το 1906.
δ)Εικόνες από το 1930 και μετά με ρυθμό βυζαντινό.
Σήμερα εκτός από τον Ιερό ναό του Αγίου Μηνά υπάρχει και πιστό αντίγραφο του Πύργου του Γαλατά της Κωνσταντινούπολης, πιστό αντίγραφο του Ναού της του Θεού Σοφίας (Αγια – Σοφιάς) της Κωνσταντινούπολης, παρεκκλήσι της Αγίας Αναστασίας της Φαρμοκολύτρας εντός του ναού του Αγίου Μηνά.

Emporio is a village in the province of Eordea, the seat of the municipality of Mouriki in the prefecture of Kozani. It is built on the eastern side of the homonymous forested mountain, almost hidden in the shady and pine-covered mountainside. The few remaining Macedonian houses, the picturesque square, the narrow streets with the taps and the Temple of Agios Minas, the patron saint and patron of the village, create the impression of an old historic village. The commerce is united with Anaerochris.
The church bears the name of Saint Megalomartyra Minas and celebrates on November 11th and was built on the foundations of an ancient temple in the year 1815.
The rhythm of the temple is a three-aisled basilica with a wooden roof.
The greatest wealth of the church is its hagiographies that are distinguished in mobile and immovable and divided into four categories.
a) Byzantine style dating from 1540 to 1574.
b) Macedonian style, meaning mixed Byzantine art and Renaissance style, are the icons of the iconostasis dating from 1815 to 1850.
c) Images brought by the Pontians refugees in 1924 from Argyroupolis of Pontus and dating from 1905 to 1906.
d) Pictures from 1930 onwards Byzantine style.
Today, besides the Holy Temple of St. Minas, there is a faithful copy of the Galata Tower of Constantinople, a faithful copy of the Temple of God Sophia (Saint - Sophia) of Constantinople, a chapel of Agia Anastasia of Pharmamoythra within the temple of St. Minas.

Chalkida is the capital of Evia and is actually covers area both on the island and on the mainland. It is located on the west side of the island, facing the Euripus Strait, and connected to the mainland by a bridge. It is only about an hour away from Athens, so it's perfect for a day trip as well as holidays. There are many interesting sights in Chalkida – a Castle of Karababa built on a hill above the city, the Red House and watching the tide phenomenon from the Negroponte Bridge. The Strait of Euripus is prone to extremely strong currents that reverse direction four times a day (roughly every six hours). The city has accommodation of all varieties, as well as shopping, cafes, bars, restaurants. There are several excellent nearby beaches – Agios Minas and Asteria are worth it for a dip!

Sidirokastro Hamam, monastery & medieval town, Serres | best of Greece
Sidirokastro is a town in Serres, Greece. It is built near the fertile valley of the river Strymonas. It is situated on the European route E79 and the main road from northern Greece (Thessaloniki) to Bulgaria. It has interesting sights, such as the medieval stone castle, Byzantine ruins, natural spas and beautiful nature: such as the ruins of the Byzantine castle, the Agios Dimitrios church that is carved in rock, and the quaint bridges over the Krousovitis River.
The Issari Fort, built by Emperor Basil II. The town owes its name to this fort: Sidirokastro means iron castle in Greek.
The wetland habitat of the artificial Lake Kerkini, created by a dam on the Strymon River. This singular habitat, protected by the RAMSAR Convention on Wetlands, is Greece's natural frontier with Bulgaria. It is one of the richest fowl habitats in Greece: home to more than 300 species.
The Sidirokastro Hot Springs have a temperature of 45°. They are just outside the town to the north, near the Strymon River railway-bridge, on a hill that offers panoramic views of the area. Thousands of people go to these hot springs every year, both for recreation or therapy, especially since the recent renovation of the area's tourist facilities.
The main feature of the Sidirokastro area is the extensive geothermal field. Hot events are mainly found in the margins of the basin along cracked bands with temperatures reaching 65 degrees Celsius.
The geothermal field of Thermopigi-Sidirokastro is located 8 km north-west of the town of Sidirokastro, along the Thermopigi settlement, which, apart from the large amounts of heat it yields, has healing properties.
The source is super alkaline and alkaline earth oxycarbonate (Na-Ca-K-HCO3F) with alkaline metallic alkaline, up to 43.7 degrees Celsius.
Thermal thermal waters are proposed as a remedy for treatment of musculoskeletal diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, osteoarthritis, deforming arthritis, discopathy, sciatica, mytitis, myalgia, tendinitis, back pain, old fractures, cervical syndrome and certain gynecological diseases.

Sidirokastro (Eisenburg) ist eine Kleinstadt im Regionalbezirk Serres. Sidirokastro wurde 1946 zur Stadtgemeinde (dimos) erhoben und bis 1997 durch Eingemeindungen stetig vergrößert; mit der Verwaltungsreform 2010 ging sie in der neu gegründeten Gemeinde Sindiki auf, wo sie seither einen Gemeindebezirk bildet. Sidirokastro ist zudem Gemeindesitz.
Το Σιδηρόκαστρο είναι πεδινή πόλη και βρίσκεται 26 χλμ. ΒΔ. της πόλης των Σερρών. Αποτελεί έδρα του Δήμου Σιντικής και είναι ο τελευταίος δήμος της Ελλάδας στην έξοδο της χώρας προς τη Βουλγαρία.
Στην κωμόπολη υπάρχουν μνημεία όπως το βυζαντινό κάστρο, λαξευτοί μακεδονικοί τάφοι, ρωμαϊκός οικισμός και διατηρητέα αρχοντικά.
Πάνω από την πόλη του Σιδηροκάστρου, που βρίσκεται ο Ναός της Αγίας Ζώνης, είναι κτισμένη Ιερά Μονή αφιερωμένη στους Αγίους Κήρυκο και Ιουλίττα, οι οποίοι κατάγονταν και μαρτύρησαν στο Ικόνιο της Μικρας Ασίας και τιμώνται στις 15 Ιουλίου. Η μονή ιδρύθηκε το 1967 από τον Μητροπολίτη Σιδηροκάστρου Ιωάννη. Λειτουργεί επίσης ξενώνας για τη φιλοξενία προσκυνητών. Περίοπτη θέση στο μοναστηριακό συγκρότημα κατέχει το Μοναστικό Κέντρο Διακονίας, το οποίο κτίστηκε με δωρεά του ιδρύματος Νιάρχου ως φιλανθρωπικό κέντρο.

Sidirokastro es una ciudad y un ex municipio de la Unidad periférica de Serres, Grecia. Es la sede del municipio de Sintiki y está construida cerca del fértil valle del río Estrimón, a orillas del río Krousovitis. Sidirokastro está situada en la ruta europea E79 y el camino principal desde el norte de Grecia (Tesalónica) hacia Bulgaria. Tiene varios puntos de interés, como el castillo de piedras medieval, ruinas bizantinas, balnearios naturales y bellezas naturales.
Sidirókastro est une ville et une municipalité du Nome de Serrès en Macédoine-Centrale en Grèce, dans la vallée du Strymon. La ville est à 25 km de Serrès. La région possède des gisements de marbre, lignite, cuivre, fer. On y trouve aussi des sources thermales.
La population est un mélange des descendants des habitants anciens et des réfugiés d'Asie mineure lors de la « Grande Catastrophe ».

AZİZ DİMİTRİOS KİLİSESİ / AGİOS DİMİTRİOS KİLİSESİ
Aziz Dimitrios kilisesi Selanik’in merkezinde, aynı ismi taşıyan caddenin üzerinde bulunur ve Selanik'te ki en önemli kiliselerden bir tanesidir.Türkiye Başkonsolosluğuyla(Atatürk'ün Evi) aynı cadde üzerinde,caddenin başındadır.
Selanik aristokrasisinden Dimitrios bilinen bir Roma vatandaşı ve Roma ordu subayıydı. Hristiyanlığı kabul etti ve dini faaliyetlerde bulundu. M.S.303 yılında tutuklandı,bir halk hamamının alt katına hapsedildi ve orada boynu vuruldu. Sonrasında, hristiyanlar şehidin bedenini öldürüldüğü yere gömdüler.
Geleneklere göre şehidin öldürüldüğü yere 4. yüzyılda küçük bir tapınak yapıldı. Bu küçük tapınağın yerine 413 yılında İllirikos lideri Leontios’un emriyle güzel bir bazilika yapıldı. Bu kilise 7.yüzyılda bir yangında yok oldu fakat kısa sürede yerine yenisi yapıldı. Daha sonraki yıllarda kilise zararlar gördü, işgallere uğradı, hasarlar gördü ve Osmanlı egemenliğinde camiye dönüştürüldü ve müslümanların hizmetine sunuldu ve cami olarak kullanıldı.
1917 yılında bu tarihi kilise Selanik’in büyük kısmını yok eden yangında tamamıyla yandı. Yanmış olan bina daha sonraki yıllarda onarıldı ve 1949 yılında tekrar hristiyanların ibadetine açıldı ve o günden itibaren kilise olarak kullanılmaktadır. 1988 yılında UNESCO dünya kültür mirası olarak ilan edildi.
Aziz Dimitrios kilisesi çok büyük ve yüksektir (43.58m boy, 33m en). Beş kubbeli ahşap tavanlı bazilikadır. Doğu kısmında ayrı bir kubbe oluşturulmuştur. Bu son kubbenin altında günümüzde müze olarak kullanılan, bodrum katındaki ibadet alanı bulunur. Bu kilise simmetrisi, çok çeşitliliği,gösterişi ve kudretiyle ünlüdür. Akıllıca ayarlanmış orantılar, boyunun belirginleştirmesi, sütunları, bazı özelliklerinin daha belirgin yapılması, pencereleri, ışıklandırması, harem odalarındaki mermer süsler bu binanın bazı morfolojik özellikleridir. 1917 yılındaki yangında yok olmayan mozaik süslemeler ve duvar resimleri 5. yüzyıl ve 15. yüzyıl arasında adı bilinmeyen zengin kişiler tarafından yapılmış bağışlardır, bizans resim sanatının eşsiz örneklerinden olup ve görülmeye değer bir kilisedir.

Ο ΠΟΛΕΜΟΣ ΤΟΥ ΑΥΡΙΟ, ΣΗΜΕΡΑ θα μπορούσε να είναι ο τίτλος αυτού του ντοκιμαντέρ. Ταξιδεύοντας σε πέντε περιοχές της Ελλάδας (Θεσσαλονίκη, Αποπηγάδι Χανίων, ανατολική Χαλκιδική, Ασωπό και Βόλο) θα δούμε ότι ο πόλεμος του νερού δεν είναι ένα πιθανό σενάριο από το μακρινό μέλλον, αλλά μια πραγματικότητα που βιώνουν συμπολίτες μας εδώ και χρόνια και σήμερα χτυπά τις πόρτες όλων μας.
The title of this documentary could be TOMORROW'S WAR, TODAY. We have five destinations in Greece: Thessaloniki, Apopigadi, Eastern Chalkidiki, Asopos river and Volos. The war on water is not a future probability, but it's a reality familiar to some of our fellow citizens for many years now.
• Volos: 20 years of struggle against the appropriation of natural springs on Mount Pelion in order to be used for Volos' industrial area needs. People are now opposing the decision of Volos' Municipal Company of Water and Sewage to get Pelion's fresh water chlorinated, while it is distributed to the city through asbestos cement water pipes.
• Asopos: Industrial activities have contaminated Asopos river and the aquifier with hexavalent chromium, which is responsible for the high level of deaths caused by cancer in the agricultural area of Asopos basin. Epidemiological evidence show an increase of cancer deaths from 6% in 1988 to 36% in 2004.
• Thessaloniki: The ongoing privatization of Thessaloniki Water and Sewage Company -- the role of water multinational Suez and local contractor Aktor. The goverment is now trying to block a referendum on the privatization, promoted by both grassroot movements and the area's municipalities.
• Apopigadi: The wind farm on top of Apopigadi mountain in Crete is not an environment-friendly investment, but a threat to local water resources and wild animals which was imposed to local people with violent police action. The investor in this case is the well-known French multinational EDF.
• Skouries: The Chalkidiki goldmines that now belong to a Canadian multinational company are responsible for the contamination of local water resources and reserves. Local people opposing the investment are now prosecuted for terrorism.
