View from Church of Sant Bartolmeu i Santa Tecla, Sitges
A whole week in Sitges has left me with a great tan, fully relaxed, and filled with experiences. Just 40 minutes away from the busy streets of Barcelona, it is a popular place to visit for a swim during the weekends, and during the summer seasons gays and lesbians gather here to enjoy an active social life in a liberal atmosphere. In spite of this, the city does not feel like a ghetto. Here you meet elderly straight couples, families with children and youths. Here is a view from the city's main church.

The event is as special as Sitges, due to the soppyness & character of the crowd. From friendliness, whilst they wait, to gasps and ahh's at the hearts being created and appreciation of the dramatic effects. In front of and above Sitges, as close quarters. Should not be missed (along with the bigger Fiesta Mayor - Festa Major)

Spain- Sitges Festa Major Santa Tecla 2014
The Santa Tecla is every year in september. To honour Santa Tecla. She is carried through the streets in a procession, and they make a lot of noise to chase away bad ghosts. The fireworks are dangerous, they carry them through the narrow streets, shops cover their windows, because sparks fly everywhere.
If you want to experiance this, wear an old hat and tee shirt, the sparks will burn holes in them.
Sitges Spain - A Walk in Winter with Christmas Lights | Luces de Navidad
Nos gusta Sitges en Navidad y el invierno, muy tranquilo con muchas luces y decoraciones de Navidad.
Sitges Spain during the winter and Christmas time is lovely as well. It’s just a 40-min train ride costing a little over 8€ two-way from Barcelona. This time you’ll see big waves, Christmas lights and decorations in the streets, and of course the famous Church of Sant Bartomeu and Santa Tecla, the promenade, and many more
Thanks to my very good friend, for the visit.
If you like the video please like, and subsribe. Thank you! And Merry Christmas!

Sitges: the St Tropez of Spain
Why go?
Sitges is not like other Mediterranean hot spots. Twenty miles along the craggy coast from Barcelona, this unspoilt seaside town, with its style, culture and élan, instantly stands out from the overdeveloped resorts along the Costa Daurada.
A former fishing village with wending streets, a compact old town and a mellow vibe, it has a population of 25,000, which swells to more than 100,000 in summer. “Barcelona-on-sea” is where rich Catalans come to tan. With miles of meticulously raked beaches, slo-mo charm and a metropolitan heartbeat, it is a jet-set favourite, too. Home to some of the country’s ritziest real estate, it earns its tag as the St Tropez of Spain.
But there is a bohemian spirit here as well. Its laid-back credentials were established in the 18th century when wealthy traders set up holiday villas, attracting artists and writers looking for inspiration from the azure waters, whitewashed houses and wild landscapes. Its reputation as a hang-out for European intelligentsia was sealed when, in the late 19th century, Picasso and his set began chilling out here.
On the edge of Catalan wine country, there are plenty of opportunities to sample the region’s sparkling cava. And at the end of August, Sitges hosts one of its many crowd-pulling events, the Fiesta Major, in honour of patron saint Sant Bartomeu, during which locals parade gegants (giant puppets) through the streets before a superb firework display at the landmark cliff-edge church. High season ends in October, after Sitges has hosted its international film festival, during which fantasy films are shown on screens around the town.
