Cockatiel in Chuvit Garden in Bangkok
Sometimes I go here for peace in quiet in a city of noise. This is a cockatiel that another visitor brings to the park for his excercise. He says Sawatdee Krup which is a Thai greeting. He's a good boy,

Axe Throwing Game in Bangkok, Thailand . ⛏️????????
I competed against Mr Neil in an axe throwing competition in Bangkok, Thailand.
This place is located at the Artbox Bangkok night market which is in Chuvit Garden (Formally the famous Sukhumvit Square, before it was demolished in 2003), half way between Asoke and Nana BTS stations.
The axe throwing business has a larger venue up in Lad Prao with better facilities and larger axes but we went to this small venue in Sukhumvit as we couldn't be bothered dealing with the rush-hour traffic jam or being packed like sardines into an MRT train.

THAILAND: TIGERS & COMMERCIAL FARMING
Thai/English
XFA
Thailand could become the only country in the world to allow the commercial farming and slaughter of tigers.
A politician says he'll push for the legislation after this week's general election.
Wildlife groups are aghast.
They say such a law would lead to international sanctions.
Chuvit Pitukpornpunlob set up his tiger zoo in Ubon Ratchathani, 300 kilometres (190 miles) from Bangkok, a year ago. Today, 21 animals prowl its cages.
He says the new law would be a win-win situation.
If trading in tigers was legal Thailand's zoos could breed up to forty thousand within ten years.
This would ensure the survival of the species, he says, and mean owners could treat the newly-abundant population as a commodity just as has happened with crocodiles.
SOUNDBITE: (Thai)
Buyers could do with them whatever they wanted. Like cattle; you can make their skins into belts, bags and so on. It's up to them.
SUPER CAPTION: Chuvit Pitukpornpunlob, Zoo Owner
On his website Chuvit posts information about the species, and about his zoo. Soon he hopes it'll carry a price list for tigers for sale.
And he may have the influence to make it happen.
He's not just a zoo owner with a dream; he's standing as an M-P in this week's general election for the party that's widely expected to win power. He even claims his party backs his proposal.
SOUNDBITE: (Thai)
If I win this constituency and become an MP again I'll push for the law to be changed so that people who have tigers can breed and trade them, all under the supervision of the Forestry Department.
SUPER CAPTION: Chuvit Pitukpornpunlob, Zoo Owner
Tigers once thrived in Thailand's jungles. Now, research has shown that barely a handful are left.
Hunters illegally supplying the traditional medicine market, which prizes tiger parts, are largely to blame.
Chuvit argues that a legal trade in bones and skins would put the poachers out of business.
Pure fantasy, say wildlife groups. Far from stopping poaching, they argue, it would encourage it by providing a simple way to launder tigers and tiger products.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Some traders will encourage some poachers to hunt tigers in the wild more, then they can say 'it's from a farm'. So it will really hurt the number of tigers in the wild.
SUPER CAPTION: Jutarat Tongplam, Thai Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Others warn of an international backlash.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Legalized tiger farms would create an international boycott. The tiger conservation idea that is widely accepted in the world would cause other nations to boycott Thai business, to come up with a law to boycott other products from Thailand because we try to sell, to trade tigers.
SUPER CAPTION: Roger Lohanan, Thai Animals Guardian Association
In the end the new government may judge it as too hot an issue to handle.
No country currently allows the commercial exploitation of this endangered species.
Chuvit says he's an animal lover who wants to preserve the species. Opponents say the only motive is business.
