DJ Dank and Meg Murray chat about the gay significance of the Polk Street area in San Francisco, how it is changing and why a peaceful gay stunt like the Straight-Bar Takeover can bring to light the importance of having one's own space and the gay culture's need to rediscover its history.
The Gay Bar Takeover will be at Playland once a gay bar called Kimos at the corner of Polk and Pine. Come directly to the bar, or meet earlier at the Cinch down the street. We ask for no acting out or name calling. Let's just have fun, take over the bar and turn it gay for a night!

Make The Loop Again
Clips of testimony before members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 2003 regarding regulation of massage, and/or sex work, and/or prostitution, edited into a docudrama of sorts by Brian Goodwin (aka Brian Longcor).
This short film was entered into the Mill Valley Film Festival several years ago (2004?). What category does this belong in? Entertainment? Education? Politics? Travel? This whole issue becomes ever more bizarre when I notice that as I am uploading this video using free wireless at a coffe shop in San Rafael, CA, I have a copy of the San Francisco Bay Guardian 8/5-8/11, 2009 edition sitting on a chair next to me. The cover photo by Josh Kirschenbaum is supposedly of Grace, a trans-sexual prostitute living in San Francisco's Polk Street neighborhood. I recognize Grace as a Home Health Aide I used to work in conjunction with in the Marina District in San Francisco. He/She went by the name CC then. I was working as a Massage Therapist/Personal Trainer. We were both working for a wealthy woman who had multiple sclerosis. CC dressed as a woman, yet had a trinket on his/her keychain about being a member of some brotherhood... I think the last time I saw CC was in 2003 before I moved to Florida to study for my Doctorate in Physical Therapy... CC is from Belize. Am I crying again?
Commissure @ Hemlock Tavern - Polk Street - San Francisco, CA - February 2nd, 2016
This is the Second of two videos I filmed of Commissure's first show of 2016 at the amazing Dive Bar Hemlock Tavern on Polk Street in San Francisco, CA on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016. The show was good, but not one for the record books. We were graced with a special treat by the addition of a violin player playing an electric violin! Unfortunately I don't know her name :/

I became acquainted with the guys (while they had a different bassist) while playing pool against their guitarist Carlos Reyes (He always beat me). I have filmed many of their shows so feel free to check out my other videos if you want to see them rock through the years.

Kelly live at Gangway
It was Kelly's first SF performance and she packed the Gangway, the oldest gay bar in San Francisco. My buddy Brontez managed to secure her for some monthly party that has long ago since been forgotten.
