One of the smokestacks at Great American Ball Park caught fire Friday night as the Reds faced off against the San Francisco Giants. The Cincinnati Fire Dept. brought in two ladder trucks to put it out.

Columbus firefighters man Cincinnati firehouses
OAKLEY, Ohio (Angenette Levy) -- Firehouses throughout Cincinnati were staffed by firefighters from departments around the area and from Columbus during funeral services for Fire Apparatus Operator, Daryl Gordon. 126 Columbus firefighters came to Cincinnati to staff firehouses starting at 6 a.m. at the request of the Cincinnati Fire Dept. Everybody up there in Columbus didn't even think twice when we were asked if we could come down and cover for Cincinnati when this happened. Just covering for our brothers, said Capt. Shawn Funk of the Columbus Fire Dept. It was the second time that Capt. Funk had manned a Cincinnati firehouse so firefighters could attend a funeral. He and Battalion Chief Jack Reall came to Cincinnati in 2003 for the funeral of firefighter Oscar Armstrong. We're not here to bring any attention to ourselves, Batallion Chief Reall said. We're here to make sure that those guys can do what they need to do so that their grieving process is complete. That's what we want to do.A few firefighters stayed behind at Station #31 so the Columbus firefighters would know how to get around the area. The brotherhood and the love that they've shown is tremendous. It really is, said Cincinnati firefighter Steve Grau. His brothers from Columbus helped clean the firehouse and cooked lunch. Grau remembers working with Daryl Gordon when he started at the fire department six years ago. He said Gordon wasn't afraid to do the grunt work. He was a guy that had 25 years on at the time. He acted like a guy that only had one year on the fire department and he treated me like a guy that had 20 years on the fire department, Grau said. Battalion Chief Reall said Columbus and Cincinnati's fire departments operate similarly. Cincinnati Chief Richard Braun worked in Columbus for 30 years. The loss of Daryl Gordon has reverberated around the country. Us being down here, it gives us the opportunity to grieve along with Cincinnati for somebody that we lost. We feel like we lost a brother, Reall said. Another 100 to 200 Columbus firefighters took part in Daryl Gordon's funeral procession. Watch F.A.O. Gordon's graveside service here. Cincinnati Police to carry Narcan
CINCINNATI (Deborah Dixon) -- Despite questions over whether the drug enables too many addicts, Narcan will be used more often in Cincinnati. A pilot program by Cincinnati Police showed more people on the West Side are overdosing than other parts of town. For now, that's where cops will carry Narcan. However there are good and bad sides of Narcan.An overdose of heroin causes respiratory depression. Breathing stops but the heart is still beating.The drug Narcan, given intravenously in this case, jump starts the body into breathing again, and with a single dose another life is saved.Just in Cincinnati, the Fire Department administered Narcan 293 times in January compared with 178 times the year before. That's what happened on State Avenue, two women overdosed. They were revived with Narcan and didn't want to go to the hospital. Six hours later, crews were called back to the same house where the same two women overdosed and had to be Narcan-ed again.When asked if he gets frustrated with some users, Advanced Life Support Lt. Joseph Rosemeyer said We try not to think about that stuff. This is our job and we need to take care of these peopleHis job is costly. Last year the Fire Department spent more than 0,000 on Narcan compared with 0,000 the year before and the price of Narcan keeps going up. Were here to save them, that's what we're going to do, said Cincinnati Fire Department District Chief Cedric Robinson. We're here to save themThese are some of the West Side Cincinnati Police Officers who will be trained to use Narcan in a nasal spray, in case they are the first to get to the overdose.When it comes to overdose, the person is sick and needs help. If we're the first ones there we need to help them out, said Cincinnati Police Lt. Col. Paul Humphries.I was in a low dark place self-esteem low. no self-worth I used heroin and Xanax that day, said Kim Fogle, a mother who was revived by Narcan.The day a year and a half ago when Kim Fogle overdosed, she was revived with Narcan allowing her to see 1-year-old son Landon again.What was I thinking? I can't believe I let myself get to this, said Kim.Kim went to detox, but she went back to using heroin three more times before she came to First Step Home, a residential treatment center.Now today I can be the best mom I can be, said Kim.When asked where she would be if she wasnt recovering, Kim said I'd be dead Kim wants first responders to know being revived can be the first step toward recovery and more. Flash flooding pounds Norwood; schools closed
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - One of the hardest-hit areas in the Tri-State Sunday was Norwood.
Severe flooding shut down the Norwood Lateral in both directions, causing major traffic delays.
Local 12 Meteorologist Scott Dimmich says radar estimates the area was pummeled with five inches of rain.
Schools closed ahead of Monday morning as a result of the flooding. Norwood City Schools, Roger Bacon High School, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place and Hamilton County Learning Center at North Norwood are all closed as a result of the storms.
The storms knocked out power and traffic lights throughout the city. Duke Energy reported more than 13,000 customers went without power across the area. The outages all appeared to be a result of the weather.
All of the rain over a short period of a time also overwhelmed storm sewers in many parts of the Tri-State. Water shot out of manhole covers on Dorchester near Reading Road in Mt. Auburn.
The Cincinnati Fire Department and Metropolitan Sewer District were flooded with calls for help, and urged residents to report sewer backups online.
Kasich visits Cincinnati to address Ohio's drug abuse epidemic
With the Tri-State amidst a spate of heroin overdoses, Gov. John Kasich is scheduled to speak at the Regional Judicial Opoid Initiative at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the Netherland Plaza Hotel Downtown.

Cincinnati Fire Department hosts workshop for public officials, media
MILLVALE, Ohio (WKRC) -- Cincinnati firefighters hosted a workshop Saturday for public officials and members of the media.
Fire Ops 101 was held at the department's training facility in Millvale.
Those taking part included Cincinnati City Council members P.G. Sittenfeld and Wendell Young and Hamilton County coroner, Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco.
They suited up in protective gear and took part in live fire and rescue drills to get a feel for what it takes to keep Cincinnati safe.
