Let's Visit the Observation Deck at Los Angeles City Hall
We Like L.A. helps you find the best things to do in Los Angeles!
In this video we visit the observation deck at Los Angeles City Hall.
Visiting the 27th floor observation deck at City Hall is easily one of the best free things to do in L.A. The observation deck provides a 360 degree view of the entire city, including an up close and personal viewpoint of the ever-growing DTLA skyline.
One of the most interesting facts about City Hall is that from 1928 to 1964, it was the tallest building in Los Angeles. Per an order in the city charter, no building taller than 15 stories was allowed to be built. That rule was ultimately overturned in 1958, and new skyscrapers started appearing less than a decade later.
Contrast that to today, when depending on your vantage point, you may not even be able to see City Hall as it's obscured by the rest of the burgeoning downtown skyline.
One key thing for your visit: You have to go on the weekdays, as the observation deck is only open during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.

Los Angeles City Guide: Beverly Hills City Hall -Travel & Discover
In the 1910s and 1920s, before this building was constructed, city administration services took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel. However, in 1925, a two-storey building was erected on Burton Way to serve as a city hall and fire department building. Yet five years later, a petition signed by 2,000 residents which was presented to the Beverly Hills City Council called for a new building in a new location.

Must Watch: Otis/Dover Elevators and View - Los Angeles City Hall, Los Angeles CA
Saving my Califronia video for last is in Los Angeles City Hall in Downtown Los Angeles California as I wrap up the video from my Christmas 2018/19 trip. This is my first time visiting the city hall in Los Angeles and I heard that it does have the very nice view of the city of Los Angeles and their skyline too. This building was used to be the tallest 1928-1968 (40 years).
There are 3 sets of elevators are feature in this video. The main elevator are Vintage Otis and since then Dover moderate these historic elevator and they restored their elevator cab and it is an very nice elevator. I only ride the high rise. At the 22nd floor there is another 2 elevator serve floor 22-26 and that one are Traction. And finally at the 26th floor there is another elevator serve floor 26 & 27 and that one is Hydraulic. The top elevator are nice but basic.
At the 27th floor of the city hall, you get to see the view of Los Angeles skyline itself and It is on this video too.
There is two other elevator that doesn't go up in the tower and I didn't filmed those and also the low rise serve the tower section too.
Hope you enjoy this video and be sure you subscribe :)

Los Angeles City Hall Observation Deck Spectacular City Views
Los Angeles is a big place, and it's impossible to see it all. A quick walk from the Civic Center Metro station (past the LA Times Lobby--another not to be missed stop) is Los Angeles' iconic city hall. Visible from freeways and recognizable from movies and TV, few know that the 28th floor holds an observation tower that allows views of Catalina, the Hollywood sign & Griffith Park Observatory, the Music Center and much more. Visitors will pass through a metal detector and show ID, but it's two elevator rides up (the first one is exquisite) and then a walk up a flight of stairs to the observation deck. For folks from LA, the portraits of the mayors provide a pretty cool history lesson (and a lesson on the history of facial hair trends). The only downside is the deck is only open M-F, 8-5, but for weekday visits, this is not to be missed.

About me:
I'm a filmmaker; I like traveling to many places in California looking for the most unique and impressive places to shoot videos. In fact, California is such an amazing state with so many places to visit like art museums and landmarks! But many people don't have the opportunity to visit California because it's very expensive to travel to the Golden State. Instead of traveling, I will take you on a tour to those places and my travel videos will show you a lot of scenic sights and monuments absolutely free on my Youtube Channel.

Mike Shinoda Live @ Los Angeles City Hall, Los Angeles, CA 2018 Part 1
Mike Shinoda performing live at Los Angeles City Hall, Los Angeles, CA for the Identity LA festival. This is my first time seeing him perform, and it was an amazing night. I have been a fan of him and Linkin Park for 11 years, and it felt surreal. The LP Soldiers are with you, Mike! We love you. :)
P.S. We miss you, Chester Bennington. :(
