Channel 7 - Panama Invasion
I think this is the second time Chris gets mistaken for someone else and gets cut off. He does strangely want to talk about the 'Panama Invasion'. Not sure where that came from, but he, like Jon, couldn't actually see or hear the show. He was also watching the movie Six Degrees of Separation when he called. From the short lived Talk TV format on channel 7. This was taped live off the air in the winter of 1995 in Philadelphia.
Thinking Out Loud - Panama
Here's a little video that I produced to further explain the purpose of the One Year One World initiative. I collected this footage in 2009, when I followed a group of Canadian doctors to one of Central America's few remaining indigenous communities. The Ngobe-Bugle people live in the heart of the Panamanian rainforest and have no access to clean water, health care services, or proper nutrition. 98% of these people live in extreme poverty and suffer from a variety of illnesses including severe parasite infections...despite all this; they are some of the most fascinating people I have ever met.
I will embark on my second journey to Kankintu with the doctors from the Bruyere Family Medicine Centre in mid-February 2011 to share their stories and put the One Year One World project to the test. So stayed tuned, if you wish, for a glimpse at a journey into the jungle that I will share with you as it unfolds...

Looking to move to Bocas del Toro and your interested in some of the outer lying areas. In this video we're going to look at Isla Cristobal and the Darklands or Tierra Oscura.
Cristobal island is just to the sw of Bocas town and can be reached by boat in 10-15 minutes. The island is pretty large and one of the most popular areas on the islands is Dolphin bay which is around 10 more miuntes by boat. Dolphins live in the bay all year round and many of the tour companies offer trips to the bay to see them and then wisk the people away to the coral gardens of coral key.
For those living in this bay, either on the island or on the adjacent mainland or darklands, this bay has a lot to offer including a unique local restaurant, two resorts, a sailing school and an organic chocolate farm.
This bay is linked to Tierra Oscura bay which hosts a jungle pizza restaurant, a highly qualified motor mechanic, a small local restaurant and a small convenience store.
Living along the shores of Tierra Oscura means which and easy access to Almirante too. The Bay opens up to the north making it easy to travel to Almirante and take advantage of the bus and taxi services to Changuinola with it's new hospital and large supermarket as well as to David with all it's amenaties.
