Rome is the capital city and a special comune of Italy (named Comune di Roma Capitale). Rome also serves as the capital of the Lazio region. “If I’m in Rome for only 48 hours, I would consider it a sin against God to not eat cacio e pepe, the most uniquely Roman of pastas, in some crummy little joint where Romans eat.”
To others, it might be recreating an iconic moment from Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and posting proof of the midnight swim on social media, which is exactly what some tourists did earlier in the year. The iconic Trevi Fountain is now monitored day and night to prevent tourists from behaving badly.
Rome has the status of a global city. Rome ranked as the 14th-most-visited city in the world, 3rd most visited in the European Union, and the most popular tourist attraction in Italy.

We took a train from Milan to Rome and reached there at around 9pm and straight reached our Air BNB. Rome is the capital of Italy. Its a beautiful place with historic importance and stunning architectural buildings of ancient times. One can easily stay in Rome for 3 to 4 days and enjoy the different locations around slowly and steadily. But I had just a day in Rome and I had to make the most of it. Rome at 8am - Spanish Steps to Trevi Fountain (NO CROWDS) 4k/60fps
This walk was filmed on January 6th, 2019 at 8am and begins at the top of the Spanish Steps(00:22) and ends at the Trevi Fountain (15:48). This is the morning of the Feats of the Epiphany, an Italian national holiday which commemorates the twelfth day of Christmas when the three wise men brought gifts for baby Jesus. For Italian children, this marks the day when La Befana, an Italian witch, flies around on her broomstick bringing gifts for all the children.

- go in a “cooler” month, they get 330 days of sun and June was soooo hot. It’s a walkable city but with the heat we paid for the bus passes to get us around for part of the time.
- go to major sites early morning/evening to avoid crowds and hot weather
- book any sightseeing ahead of time if available
- bring water bottle, fountains all over the city with fresh water
- wear comfortable shoes, the city is walkable
- cheap bus from the airport to downtown vatican city
- best pizza is at smaller shops, have big slabs of pizza that they cut and weigh
- zucchini pizza, fried zucchini soooo yum
- lemon soda in black can is delish

CATACOMBS OF ROME-CREEPY, BIZARRE, UNFORGETTABLE! (With Capuchin Bone Crypt)
This will probably be one of the eeriest and bizarre videos you'll watch, especially when you see the Capuchin Crypt, where the bones of 3,700 Capuchin monks are arranged in various artistic ways as a tribute to the dead. It was not something I'll ever forget. Our next stop was the Catacombs of San Callisto where up to a half a million bodies were bodies were buried because Christians at that time were being persecuted and could not be buried in regular cemeteries. The Basilica of San Clemente isn't a catacomb, but a richly decorated three-tiered church that has its origins from the 1st century. We got to see the top level which is from the early 12th century.
