San Diego is a major city in California, United States. It is in San Diego County, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, approximately 120 miles (190 km) south of Los Angeles and immediately adjacent to the border with Mexico.
With an estimated population of 1,406,630 as of July 1, 2016, San Diego is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest in California. It is part of the San Diego–Tijuana conurbation, the second-largest transborder agglomeration between the US and a bordering country after Detroit–Windsor, with a population of 4,922,723 people. The city is known for its mild year-round climate, natural deep-water harbor, extensive beaches, long association with the United States Navy, and recent emergence as a healthcare and biotechnology development center.
San Diego has been called the birthplace of California. Historically home to the Kumeyaay people, it was the first site visited by Europeans on what is now the West Coast of the United States. Upon landing in San Diego Bay in 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo claimed the area for Spain, forming the basis for the settlement of Alta California 200 years later. The Presidio and Mission San Diego de Alcalá, founded in 1769, formed the first European settlement in what is now California. In 1821, San Diego became part of the newly independent Mexico, which reformed as the First Mexican Republic two years later. California became part of the United States in 1848 following the Mexican–American War and was admitted to the union as a state in 1850.
The city is the seat of San Diego County and is the economic center of the region as well as the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area. San Diego's main economic engines are military and defense-related activities, tourism, international trade, and manufacturing. The presence of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center, has helped make the area a center of research in biotechnology.

First ever Heart of San Diego marathon: Runners race from Coronado to San Diego Stadium in 1978
On October 14, 1978, the Heart of San Diego Marathon stepped off for the first time ever with marathon runners racing from Coronado to San Diego Stadium (since renamed several times). The first man to cross the finish line was U.S. Olympic track runner Ed Mendoza who spoke with News 8's Shirley Clum about the difficulty of facing the race route's rolling hills. Sue Krenn was the first woman to finish the marathon and smiled as she commented on the great crowds.
2020 San Diego real estate Outlook
- 2020 San Diego real estate Outlook
2020 San Diego real estate forecast - With a softening in the residential mortgage market in 2019 which has resulted in our current average 30 year mortgages running about 3.75%, a strong and strengthening economy, combined with a relative shortage of affordable residential real estate in San Diego, would strongly suggest that the San Diego 2020 residential real estate market outlook remains positive for the 2020 new year!
One real estate data firm is projecting a 5.6% appreciation for San Diego real estate in 2020. Personally, considering the fact that our San Diego housing prices have already seen some great appreciation, and depending where you get your data from, the average single-family detached San Diego home is currently $635,000 and the median San Diego detached single-family home is $693,959, these already lost the high single-family home prices will tend to slow down future appreciation just because the average San Diego incomes are making it very hard to qualify for these high mortgage amounts even when putting the traditional 20% down.
The above, are just my personal opinions and before making any real estate investment you should always consult with your accountant and personal financial advisor.
Lastly, I have my main real estate site for sale as well as a number of other San Diego real estate sites Los Angeles Orange County real estate sites and even sites in Northern California that I have for sale. Now, I know most professional real estate agents already have their own site, but the fact is that all the sites are at least 10 to 20 years old which gives them a search engine ranking boost over the much younger sites. Also, many of the sites are already ranked for their specific keywords on some of the main search engines in the country. For more info, email: seo711@gmail.com

Star of India - Maritime Museum of San Diego The world’s oldest active sailing ship. Star of India is an iron-hulled sailing ship, built in 1863 in Ramsey, Isle of Man as the full-rigged ship, Euterpe. After a career sailing from Great Britain to India and New Zealand, she became a salmon hauler on the Alaska to California route. Retired in 1926, she was restored as a seaworthy museum ship in 1962–3 and home-ported at the Maritime Museum of San Diego in San Diego, California. She is the oldest ship still sailing regularly and also the oldest iron-hulled merchant ship still floating. The ship is both a California Historical Landmark and United States National Historic Landmark.
HMS Surprise HMS Surprise is a modern tall ship built at Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The vessel was built in 1970 as HMS Rose to a Phil Bolger design based on the original 18th-century British Admiralty drawings of HMS Rose, a 20-gun sixth-rate post ship from 1757. The ship was meant to be a close replica of the original HMS Rose, but still fill a commercial function.
USS Dolphin The deepest diving submarine in the world, Dolphin is responsible for many “firsts”. USS Dolphin (AGSS-555) was a United States Navy diesel-electric deep-diving research and development submarine. She was commissioned in 1968 and decommissioned in 2007. Her 38 year career was the longest in history for a US Navy submarine. She was the Navy's last operational non-nuclear-powered submarine. In November 1968, she set a depth record for operating submarines that still stands. In August 1969, she launched a torpedo from the deepest depth that one has ever been fired. Since the boat’s commissioning in 1968, it has amassed a startling record of scientific and military accomplishments.

SAN DIEGO 100 MILE Endurance Trail Race
The San Diego 100 Mile Endurance Run takes place annually in the east county mountains of San Diego. We are so glad that Emma @trail_lover_lira got to pace Steven de la Cruz for about 30 miles of the race. We loved the atmosphere, the friends and family watching, and of course, the competition out on the trails!
The race start/finish venue is located at Lake Cuyamaca near the mountain community of Julian. This is about 50 miles east of San Diego.
The course covers 5 distinct areas to include Lake Cuyamaca, Rancho Cuyamaca/Anza Borrego State Parks, Noble Canyon, Mt Laguna Recreational Area, and the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The course is 85% single track technical trails and includes just over 13,000 feet climb/descent each.

OCEANSIDE CA ~ California Coast City, San Diego County
July 17, 2012. This video footage is mostly around the Oceanside Small Craft Harbor, showing boats and ships of the area, the Oceanside Fishing Pier, WWII Pearl Harbor Memorial, The Jolly Roger Restaurant on the water. Very good food there to eat and a nice scenic window view of the harbor.
I saw boats as small as canoes (which really looks fun to paddle a canoe), to large fishing boats / vessels passing through with tourists and others.
It appears the fishermen of the Oceanside Fishing Pier are trying to catch sharks and stingrays and whatever. I saw some catching fish like perch, sea bass, ones like that.
I think there's a US Naval Station somewhere not far away, but maybe another time. I had to get moving along from southern California back to Arizona.
Peace,
Mark Allen Channel (4guests.com)

Exotic Mountaintop Estate. California's San Diego County, USA - Unravel Travel TV
Exotic, mountaintop estate in California's San Diego County will be sold at a live Auction on September 19, 2015 by Platinum Luxury Auctions. Recently offered for $12.5 million, the property will be sold to the highest bidder who meets or exceeds the auction's $5 million reserve price. Listing agent K. Ann Brizolis of Pacific Sotheby's International Realty is the cooperating listing agent for the sale
The mountaintop estate is one of the most unique and intriguing homes in all of San Diego County. Perched atop Paint Mountain on more than 18 acres, the Property offers striking, 360-degree views of Southern California, with vistas stretching all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Sunsets are especially spectacular when viewed from one of the estate’s many terraces, or while soaking in the one-of-a-kind lap pool. The mansion’s unique design was custom-created by its original owner, a wealthy inventor, investor, and physician. Materials and craftsmen were imported from all over the world to produce the sprawling residential structure. In fact, the development of the estate became quite a local attraction, with random visitors constantly driving onto the project site just to capture a peak of the work in progress.
An immense, 288,000-gallon lap pool is perhaps the residence’s most striking feature, as it runs through the property’s central courtyard and out towards its back lawn, where it seems to disappear over the edge of the mountain. It is purported to be one of the longest residential pools in the world. Massive walls of glass, unique water features, and a striking central courtyard with a pool and spa allows for a seamless integration between the estate’s indoor and outdoor living spaces. Many features of the home seem well beyond their time, such as 10-ft by 10ft doors that gently swing open on special, hidden hinges, and oversized, electronically controlled sliding glass doors that open the main level’s hallways to the central courtyard.
The tri-level estate offers more than 23,000 interior sq. ft., with 8 bedrooms, 9 full and 2 half baths. The master suite alone measures 4,300 sq. ft., and opens to a large, rooftop terrace. There is also a separate guesthouse, which adds 2 beds, 2 full baths and approximately 1,200 sq. ft. of living space, an ideal location for on-site staff. (Note: The guesthouse is presently unfinished). Additional features of the mansion include two living rooms, a game/media parlor, formal dining room with glass walls and a revolving floor (designed to allow all dinner guests to enjoy the panoramic views during their meal), a dedicated theatre, fitness center, executive office, and sauna. The commercial-grade kitchen includes a Teppanyaki station, Viking and Wolf appliances, and a separate prep room. There is also a wine cellar and a garage capable of accommodating more than 20 cars.
In addition to it’s incredible pool, the estate’s water features include two, 900-gallon salt-water aquariums, gentle stone “wall waterfalls,” and various koi pools. There is even a custom rock waterslide that slopes down the edge of the mountain, terminating in a small plunge pool. Other outdoor features include a gated entry, circular driveway with porte-cochere, and a private jogging path that encircles the estate.
Elfin Forest is an unincorporated community in the foothills of San Diego County’s Santa Rosa Mountains. It is bordered on the south by Rancho Santa Fe (the Property is in fact located within the Rancho Santa Fe school district). A rural area comprised of large homes and estates on multi-acre parcels, Elfin Forest offers many rolling hills and trails. The area is also home to the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve, a 784-acre reserve with 11 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, in addition to many beautiful spots for picnics, or simply taking in the mountain views.
