5-Star Sporting Clays Course Opens at Clark County Shooting Complex in Las Vegas
The opening of a world-class Sporting Clays course featuring elevated and panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and nearby snow-capped mountains was recently celebrated at the Clark County Shooting Complex. The 75-acre, 30-station sporting clays course has an unparalleled view of the Las Vegas valley. (Sporting clays are also known as golf with guns since most users travel between shooting stations in golf carts that have been modified with gun racks) The 270-degree view that is offered at the complex is like no other in the world, and shooting stations have been strategically placed featuring backdrops such as Mt. Charleston and the Las Vegas Strip in the immediate background, providing unequalled photo opportunities. The design by world-renowned outdoorsman and course designer Marty Fischer also involves subtle rolling hills developed around each shooting station, providing each with its own intimate environment. Unlike sporting clay stations at most other courses, this one will feature three shooting positions at each station for a total of 90. The shooting positions will also be labeled in red, white & blue indicating degrees of difficulty associated with the position. Two of the stations offer targets running on the ground, while the others simulate birds in flight. Sporting clays is a form of clay pigeon shooting that is designed to simulate the unpredictability of shooting live birds, offering numerous target flight presentations with variations in speed, distance, elevation and target size. The County's sporting clays course covers approximately 75 acres. Its designer, Fischer, of Rincon, Ga., is credited with designing more than 100 of the premier courses in the United States and is the most sought-after designer in the country. Fischer also hosts the highly acclaimed Shotgun Journal on The Outdoor Channel. The sporting clays course will round out a wonderful assortment of amenities already available at the 2,900-acre complex, located at 11357 N. Decatur Blvd., about five miles north of the 215 Beltway, including an archery center, shotgun center, rifle-pistol center, education center, 100-meter and 50-yard archery ranges and a host site. The Clark County Shooting Complex is open for public shooting. The hours of operation at all centers is 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Special events may be scheduled for any day. Equipment rental, ammunition and eye and ear protection are available onsite. Sporting Clays targets are $32 per 100. A gasoline powered Clays Cart (seats 4) can be rented for a 3-hour period for $25, or all day for $50. Gun rental is available at $20 per day. Ammunition is available at varying prices due to brand, or customers are welcome to bring their own as long as it conforms with our standards (i.e., no shot pellet size larger than 7.5 (lead) or 7 (steel) and shell length cannot exceed 2 3/4. More information about the complex is available at ClarkCountyNV.gov/shootingcomplex or call the shooting complex at (702) 455-2000. And be sure to follow the complex on Facebook and Twitter! The Clark County Shooting Complex opened its first phase in December 2009 on 178 acres, paid for by money made available through the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act. The site is located on 2,900 acres, including a buffer, on land transferred to the County from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
TV Spot for Nevada's Only 5-Star Outdoor Shooting Facility, the Clark County Shooting Complex
Residents and tourists around the Las Vegas Valley today began seeing billboards and other advertisements touting the Clark County Shooting Complex. Officials launched a public outreach campaign today to raise awareness of Nevada's only five-star outdoor shooting facility using billboards, television spots, print and digital ads, and social media. This is the television spot that was created for the campaign. The facility also has a new logo that is more modern and localized than the old one. It features a new color scheme and the Sheep Mountains, toward which shooters shoot, and it denotes the facility's 5-star rating. Located where North Decatur Boulevard ends, in the furthest north end of the valley, the 2,900-acre shooting complex offers an unparalleled shooting experience. Whether you're a novice or expert, you'll enjoy the complex's 30-station sporting clays course (golf with guns), a shotgun center featuring 24 combination trap and skeet fields, a rifle-pistol center and a known-distance archery range. The complex also offers 80 full-service RV hook-ups and a work camper host program. The 5-star designation is from the respected National Shooting Sports Foundation, which awarded the Clark County Shooting Complex its highly sought-after 5-star rating in 2010. The Complex is one of only 11 outdoor facilities around the country with this designation (there are 40 total with the designation in the United States). Facilities can earn up to five stars based on an evaluation of six criteria: appearance, customer/member focus, customer/member development, management, community relations and amenities.

Reid Attends Opening of Clark County Shooting Park
Nevada Senator Harry Reid was joined by NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, members of Nevada's congressional delegation, state and local leaders over the weekend for the grand opening of the Clark County Shooting Park. Reid led the effort to secure the land and funding needed to build the 2,900-acre world-class shooting park. The new facility will make our communities safer, protect the natural desert environment and provide a place for people of all ages to learn about shooting sports. Nevadans aimed high when we set out to create the largest and most advanced shooting range in the world, said Reid. But we kept a steady eye on our target. And today, with great pride, Nevada has hit the bulls-eye.

NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN!!! + Lunch With Our Subscriber!!!
Hi Everyone!
Today we took a walk around the beautiful Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Inspired by the Lake Como town of Bellagio in Italy, Bellagio is famed for its elegance. One of its most notable features is an 8-acre lake between the building and the Strip, which houses the Fountains of Bellagio, a large dancing water fountain synchronized to music. The show takes place every 30 minutes in the afternoons and early evenings, and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to midnight.
Inside Bellagio, Dale Chihuly's Fiori di Como, composed of over 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers, covers 2,000 sq ft of the lobby ceiling.
The hotel also contains a Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. There are five seasonal themes that the Conservatory undergoes: Chinese New Year, spring, summer, fall, and winter. The Conservatory is located next to the hotel's lobby and is open to the public.
While in Las Vegas, we stayed at the Clark County Shooting Complex. Not your traditional place to stay in Vegas, but perfect for us. The Clark County Shooting Complex, located on the northern outskirts of the Las Vegas/North Las Vegas line in Nevada, is the largest shooting facility in the United States. The 2,900 acres park is being built in stages by Clark County, Nevada.
The Clark County Shooting Complex is a 5-Star Shooting Facility and RV park featuring a Shotgun Center with 24 combination Trap and Skeet Fields, two 15-station Sporting Clay Courses, a 5-Stand Shooting Field, and a known distance Archery Range with 30 covered firing points and a 2.4 mile 3D Animal Archery Course.
The RV Park features 80 pull-through sites with 30 and 50 amp full service hook-up, big-rig accessible, pet friendly, and offers free WiFi.
Later in the day, we met up with one of our subscribers at Hattie B's Hot Chicken, located in the Cosmopolitan Hotel on the strip.
We had an awesome time and enjoyed the food as well. Hattie B's was not the best hot chicken we have ever had, but definitely worth eating there. All the sides were very good.
When you're visiting the Strip, a good place to park is at The Fashion Show Mall. Free parking in Las Vegas is hard to come by, so take advantage of this convenient and safe place to park.

The Clark County Shooting Complex is designed to be built in three phases. The constructed public module, is designed to provide safe recreational shooting to the citizens and visitors in Clark County.
HISTORY OF THE CLARK COUNTY SHOOTING COMPLEX
The shooting complex is a culmination of community and citizen advisory, state, local and national government efforts.
The concept of a public shooting facility for the citizens of Las Vegas and surrounding areas was first created in the early 1980s.
ADDRESSING PUBLIC SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
More than 45 percent of Clark County households own a firearm and until now, Las Vegas was one of the few urban areas without a public shooting range.
Public safety is the number one priority of the Clark County Shooting Complex. Each building and shooting range was designed with the intention to be operated as a safe shooting site.
Clark County received a highly esteemed EPA recognition for its Environmental Stewardship Program.
