Lyrics:
We are the 5 Boroughs
in NY State
And we make up New York City
Yeah, our core Manhattan is great
We are the 5 Boroughs
And we’ve got lots to say
Located on the East Coast
in the great US of A
Hello I am Manhattan
The most densely populated Borough see
Of New York City
And coextensive with New York County
I’m surrounded by the Hudson River bordering New Jersey to my West
And the East and Harlem River
with the Upper Bay to my south I attest
I host Central Park, The Statue of Liberty
And the Empire States Building
As well as Rockefeller Center,
Times Square and High Line if that’s your thing!
My names Brooklyn I’m to the Southeast of Manhattan And attached to Queens
And the most populous of the 5 Borough’s
visit me and fulfill your dreams
I touch the North Atlantic Ocean
Also Lower, Upper and Jamaica Bay
The Brooklyn Bridge connects me to Manhattan over the East River all day
Coney Island’s a classic attraction
of mine, you could see
Or Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch
is something you may have seen in a movie
Queens, here I’m North of and attached to Brooklyn as shown here
To the North and West, the Bronx and Manhattan are across the East River real near
I also touch the North Atlantic Ocean
And the Jamaica Bay
Come to see the Queensboro Bridge, Citi Field, and my famous Unisphere and play
We are the 5 Boroughs
in NY State
And we make up New York City
Yeah, our core Manhattan is great
We are the 5 Boroughs
And we’ve got lots to say
Located on the East coast
in the great US of A
I’m the Bronx the Northernmost of the 5 Boroughs of NYC
I border to my west across the Hudson River New Jersey
I touch the Hudson, Harlem and East River
And also the Long Island Sound
Visit Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo, And Pelham Bay Park if you’re around
Hi I’m Staten Island the southernmost of New York City's 5 boroughs
connected to Lower Manhattan via the Staten Island Ferry you know
I touch the Upper, Lower And Raritan Bay
And the Arthur Kill
Tour NBC Studios, Staten Island Zoo
And High Rock Park to get your thrills
We are the 5 Boroughs
in NY State
And we make up New York City
Yeah, our core Manhattan is great
We are the 5 Boroughs
And we’ve got lots to say
Located on the East Coast

New York Harbor tour, part 2: Lower Manhattan, Governors Island, Statue of Liberty
The second in a series of videos from an evening cruise around New York Harbor and up the Hudson River aboard a New York Water Taxi boat, sponsored by the Working Harbor Committee. Here, we are passing through Buttermilk Channel, which separates Red Hook, Brooklyn, from Governors Island. We see the south shore of Governors Island (a former Coast Guard base) and, beyond that, some of the buildings of Lower Manhattan, include One World Trade Center (aka the Freedom Tower), under construction and nearing completion. Ahead of our boat (near the end of this brief clip) is the Statue of Liberty.
On-board commentary for this cruise was provided by maritime historian, author, and lecturer Bill Miller and by Captain John Doswell of the Working Harbor Committee.
Video shot on the evening of June 11, 2013. As you can tell, it was quite windy!

More information about New York City and where we went below!
New York City comprises 5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that’s among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.
We saw the Empire State building where I got some cool time lapses. The Statue of Liberty where I also took some cool time lapses. Other Time lapses in the video feature 360 view of Manhattan Island, Grand Central Station, and more. Staring in this video is my younger sister Halle and my older sister Taylor. The theme and inspiration of this video is the connection between a family coming closer together and growing like the dandelion in the video.
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is an 80-year-old Norway Spruce tree from State College, PA (my hometown). My mother watched it get cut down as she took photos! It was right on College Avenue just across the street from my neighborhood, Clover Highlands. The tree stood 75 feet tall, 50 feet wide and weighs 13 tons. After New York City, the tree will be sent to Habitat for Humanity to become part of a local home. How does the tree get picked? Since 2010, that man has been Erik Pauze, a longtime Rockefeller groundskeeper who became head gardener when 26-year veteran David Murbach died. Pauze tours the tri-state area throughout the year, hoping to find a “worthy specimen.” The tree, of course, needs to be big (trees less than 70 feet tall are rarely selected) and sturdy enough to hold the weight of the lights and stand strong in bad weather. A classic Christmas tree facade with straight, symmetrical branches is a plus.
The Empire State Building is a 102-story skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Did you know that it was built in one year during The Great Depression? Designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon, the building has a roof height of 1,250 feet (380 m) and stands a total of 1,454 feet (443.2 m) tall, including its antenna. Its name is derived from Empire State, the nickname of New York. As of 2017 the building is the 5th-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States and the 28th-tallest in the world. It is also the 6th-tallest freestanding structure in the Americas.
The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States. My family went on a cruise to see the Statue of Liberty where I was able to get some cool time lapses from the boat. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
The Cruise that we took was very coo and the company was Circle Line. The trip had stunning panoramic views of midtown and lower Manhattan. There was Insightful narration by Circle Line’s world famous guides and it is top rated on TripAdvisor. Also there was Free Circle Line Skyline Navigator App with narration in seven languages and enhanced content. There was an Onboard café with a freshly prepared menu of sandwiches, salads and snacks + full bar serving up hot and cold beverages, beer, wine and cocktails. Onboard amenities including outdoor deck space, heated/air conditioned indoor seating with large windows made for sightseeing, and restrooms. It is also free for children 3 and under.
I was also able to get a cool Time lapse while on the cruise of Manhattan island. Manhattan is the most densely populated of New York City’s 5 boroughs. It's mostly made up of Manhattan Island, bounded by the Hudson, East and Harlem rivers. Among the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers, it’s the heart of “the Big Apple.” Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building, neon-lit Times Square and the theaters of Broadway.
We also saw Ellis Island which is where our ancestor Grandma Sooter came over from Switzerland by herself on a boat when she was a little girl. Ellis Island, in Upper New York Bay, was the gateway for over 12 million immigrants to the U.S. as the United States' busiest immigrant inspection station for over 60 years from 1892 until 1954. Construction began in 1795.

New York City (HD)
Here is a video of New York City, USA. New York is the biggest city in the United States population wise, as well as skyscraper wise !
New York is the most populous city in the United States, and the center of the New York metropolitan area, which is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. A leading global city, New York exerts a powerful influence over global commerce, finance, media, culture, art, fashion, research, education, and entertainment. As host of the United Nations Headquarters, it is also an important center for international affairs. The city is often referred to as New York City or the City of New York to distinguish it from the state of New York, of which it is a part.
Located on a large natural harbor on the Atlantic coast of the Northeastern United States, the city consists of five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. The city's 2009 estimated population approached 8.4 million and with a land area of 305 square miles (790 km2 ). New York City is the most densely populated major city in the United States. The New York metropolitan area's population is also the nation's largest, estimated at 19.1 million people over 6,720 square miles (17,400 km2). Furthermore, the Combined Statistical Area containing the greater New York metropolitan area contained 22.2 million people as of 2009 Census estimates, also the largest in the United States.
New York was founded as a commercial trading post by the Dutch in 1624. The settlement was called New Amsterdam until 1664 when the colony came under English control. New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790. It has been the country's largest city since 1790. As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York City, making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world.
Many districts and landmarks in the city have become well known to outsiders. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Times Square, iconified as The Crossroads of the World, is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway theater district, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Anchored by Wall Street, in Lower Manhattan, New York City vies with London as the financial capital of the world and is home to the New York Stock Exchange, the world's largest stock exchange by market capitalization of its listed companies. The original Manhattan Chinatown attracts throngs of tourists to its bustling sidewalks and retail establishments. World-class schools and universities such as Columbia University and New York University also reside in New York City.
Manhattan's skyline with its many skyscrapers is universally recognized, and the city has been home to several of the tallest buildings in the world. As of August 2008, New York City has 5,538 highrise buildings, with 50 completed skyscrapers taller than 656 feet (200 m). This is more than any other city in United States, and second in the world behind Hong Kong.
New York has architecturally noteworthy buildings in a wide range of styles. These include the Woolworth Building (1913), an early gothic revival skyscraper built with massively scaled gothic detailing. The 1916 Zoning Resolution required setback in new buildings, and restricted towers to a percentage of the lot size, to allow sunlight to reach the streets below.
The Art Deco style of the Chrysler Building (1930), with its tapered top and steel spire, reflected the zoning requirements. The building has distinctive ornamentation such as replicas at the corners of the 61st floor of the 1928 Chrysler eagle hood ornaments.
A highly influential example of the international style in the United States is the Seagram Building (1957), distinctive for its facade using visible bronze-toned I-beams to evoke the building's structure. The Condé Nast Building (2000) is an prominent example of green design in American skyscrapers.
New York's large residential districts are often defined by the classic brownstone rowhouses, townhouses, and tenements that were built during a period of rapid growth from 1870 to 1930. Stone and brick became the city's building materials of choice after the construction of wood-frame houses was limited in the aftermath of the Great Fire of 1835.
A distinctive feature of many of the city's buildings is the wooden roof-mounted water towers. In the 1800s, the city required their installation on buildings higher than six stories to prevent the need for excessively high water pressures at lower elevations, which could break municipal water pipes.
Garden apartments became popular during the 1920s in outlying areas, including Jackson Heights in Queens.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
