Clet Abraham: Florentine Street Artist
French born and Florentine adopted Clet Abraham is the well-known artist responsible for street art around Florence centering around stickers placed on street signs.
Street Art in Artisan Neighborhood Oltrarno I Florence Italy
Today, we explored the south side of the Arno River - the Oltrarno neighborhood - which has a lot of amazing street art. The french artist Clet, for example, is famous for putting stickers on street signs in the area, which you can se many places. In general, so many of the houses and buildings have incredible facades and wall art. Definitely worth checking out, if you're into art and culture! :)
If you're planning to go here though, keep in mind that parking is a nightmare and can be very expensive. However, depending on where you stay in Florence, driving by car can still be preferable to taking the bus. For us, taking the bus just took way too long and even though it was hard to find parking spaces, we still prefered to take our car.

The Original Mona Lisa. Palazzo Bastogio. Florence. Italy.
The Isleworth Mona Lisa is an oil-on-canvas painting of the same subject as Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. In 2015 and 2016, peer-reviewed academic publications concerning it confirmed its attribution to Leonardo da Vinci.
In 1913 English connoisseur Hugh Blaker spotted and acquired the painting which had been hanging for over a century in a manor house in Somerset, having been bought in Italy as an original Leonardo. In a monograph published shortly thereafter, Blaker's stepfather, John R Eyre, proposed that two versions of the Mona Lisa had been worked on by Leonardo; the Isleworth picture (named after the location of Blaker's studio in Isleworth, west London) being the first.
The painting was subsequently bought by Henry F. Pulitzer, who argued that it was Leonardo's only real portrait of Lisa Gherardini.
The Isleworth Mona Lisa belongs to a private collection and is not on display to the public. It has been examined by many experts in recent years, and been filmed for a TV documentary.[7]
Turning street signs into art
In Florence even the street signs are pieces of artwork. Playful, funny, irreverent, hundreds of them dot the landscape, thanks to street artist Clet Abraham, a Frenchman who saw an opportunity to do something different in a place imbued in history. Jane Pauley reports.

Zaria Forman: Stillness and Momentum: Communicating Climate Change Through Art | Talks at Google
Every day we are forced to reckon with the looming issue of climate change, one that has become not simply an environmental issue, but a profoundly personal one as well. I believe that art has the ability to establish a personal connection to abstract concepts. Through my large-scale drawings of icebergs I seek to convey the beauty of these forgotten and rapidly changing landscapes while also imparting the urgency of the climate crisis. My travels with NASA and my own mother’s love of polar regions has instilled in me a deep respect for these monoliths of ancient ice that are melting at a rate much faster than they are growing. Through my drawings and a devotion to the positive rather than the negative, I hope to translate their awe-inspiring beauty to those who cannot experience them firsthand, so that they will be driven to protect them.
Zaria Forman was born in South Natick, Massachusetts and currently works and resides in Brooklyn, New York. She studied at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy and received a BS in Studio Arts at Skidmore College in New York. Her works have been in publications such as Juxtapoz Magazine, National Geographic Proof Blog, Huffington Post, and the Smithsonian Magazine. Zaria was featured on CNN, the Wall Street Journal and interviewed by Lucy Yang on ABC7 Eyewitness News. Zaria exhibited in Banksy's Dismaland, delivered a TEDTalk at the Town Hall Theater in NYC that is featured on TED.com, travelled aboard the National Geographic Explorer as the artist-in-residence for four weeks in Antarctica, and flew over the polar regions with NASA's Operation IceBridge. Her upcoming solo show opens September 9th at Winston Wächter Fine Art in Seattle and runs through November 4th.

Binaural 3D ???? City Tour of Florence, Italy | Walking at sunset during Christmas season | 4K⁶⁰
TIMESTAMPS BELOW THE DESCRIPTION // Walking tour of the historical center of Firenze, in a busy Sunday in December, full of both locals and tourists. I take you through most of the usual landmarks like Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Duomo, etc, with few bonus stops like inside a busy bar in Piazza Signoria, the Christmas market in Piazza Santa Croce, or the Central market in San Lorenzo. I missed a few spots, but those I hope are for another video! Near the end it started to rain and I didn't have an umbrella so I decided to quit the tour instead. I captured all the ambiance sounds using a binaural microphone and a professional audio recorder: this gives an almost perfect representation of the 3D sounds around the camera, almost like virtual reality. I find these sounds very relaxing and probably also suitable for sleep or study. Also if you want to travel to Italy in December you should watch this video so you know what to expect!
