Broken Hill, New South Wales

Broken Hill is an isolated mining city in the far west of outback New South Wales, Australia. The BH in the world's largest mining company, BHP Billiton, refers to Broken Hill and its early operations in the city.
Broken Hill is located near the border with South Australia on the crossing of the Barrier Highway and the Silver City Highway, in the Barrier Range. It is 315 m above sea level, with a hot desert climate, an average rainfall of 235 mm. The closest major city is Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, which is more than 500 km to the southwest.

NSW Young Farmer of the Year Finalist - David Gibson, Dorrigo

David Gibson is the manager of two properties near Dorrigo on the NSW North Coast, where he runs a mixed-farming operation of breeding and backgrounding stud Angus cattle, forward fodder production and a fodder conservation business.

David Gibson was a finalist in the 2009 NSW Young Farmer of the Year competition, run by Industry and Investment NSW and the NSW Farmers' Association, with support from The Land and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW. This video was filmed and produced by Industry and Investment NSW.
