Otis Elevator Compilation (2) - Coconut Grove Marketplace - Kailua Kona, Hawaii
[Recorded November 2014; Sony CyberShot DSC-TX9 (Both Clips)]
The two elevators featured in this video are generic, standard-issued, Otis Series 1 elevators. It was cool to find an early model from the 1980s and a late model from the early to mid 2000s.
The first clip filmed in the morning is the elevator from the 1980s and was recorded on 11/22/2014. The second clip filmed in the evening was the the elevator from the early to mid 2000s and was recorded on 11/24/2014.

Otis Elevators - Ali'i Tower at Royal Kona Resort - Kailua Kona, Hawaii
[Recorded 11/21/2014; Sony CyberShot DSC-TX10] Here is yet another old set of rickety, but well-running Otis elevators from the 1960s or 1970s. The fixtures have been replaced with Otis Series 1 (as of Nov. 2014). The relay controller is still original, which is exciting. It's fun to hear the clicking of the relays and the fast door times.

INSIGHTS ON PBS HAWAIʻI: Indigenous Agriculture | Program
Hawaiʻi grows only 10 to 13 percent of the food consumed in the Islands. The State is pushing to double local production by 2020. A new study suggests that Hawaiʻi consider applying traditional Native Hawaiian agricultural practices and principles as a solution – especially with increased threats caused by climate change.
Montgomery Elevator in Kailua Kona, Hawaii
[Recorded 11/22/2014; Sony CyberShot DSC-TX9] This elevator could use some improvements, but despite that, it's pretty darn cool! I don't know the name of this place, but it's within walking distance from the Royal Kona Resort. Also, the giant glass elevator shaft is a great giveaway too!!!
Otis Elevators - Courtyard Marriott - Kailua Kona, Hawaii
[Recorded 11/27/2014; Sony CyberShot DSC-TX10] I assume these elevators are from the 1970s. The modernization featured an updated cab (the car is still original from installation), controller, and motor.
This was filmed the day I was leaving Hawaii. Don't worry, there are still more videos from Hawaii.
