Col de L'Iseran (Val d'Isère) - Cycling Inspiration & Education
Linking the Tarentaise and Maurienne valleys in the Savoie department of the French Alps, climbing the Col de L'Iseran is a journey into the wonders of the Vanoise, the country's oldest national park. Although the purists may prefer to start from Bourg Saint Maurice, for the full 48km ascent, in doing so you have to contend with the first stretch of the D902 which is a busy road, heavy with traffic and tunnels. From the famous ski resort of Val d'Isère to the summit the road is much quieter and if you pick your moment then there's every chance you'll have it all to yourself.
Just one of a whole host of mythical climbs on the fabulous Route des Grandes Alpes stretching from Lake Geneva all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, it's not often that you really get a true sense that you're climbing all the way to the very top of the highest peaks around you, but that's exactly what makes the Iseran so special, and at 2,764 metres elevation it's the highest road pass in Europe and the true giant of the Alps.

SUMMER SKIING IN VAL D'ISERE | COL DE L'ISERAN - VLOG S3E25
Heading back up the Col de L'Iseran for some summer skiing in July. Summer Skiing in Val D'Isere is one of the most amazing experiences in the French Alps. As you drive over the mountain pass at nearly 3000m you are greeted by some snow covered peaks and the snow-covered glacier.

Day 7, col 7 of the 2018 Alps Trip. The mighty Col de L' Iseran. The highest col in the Alps at 2770 metres above sea level. This is an absolutely sensational ride in beautiful open scenery. We cycled from Val d'Isere, took our time and enjoyed every moment of this beautiful ride.

TSD6 des Lessières depuis le Vallon de l'Iseran - Val d'isère - Espace Killy
Le télésiège des Leissières est situé à cheval sur les secteurs du Vallon de l'Iseran et de Solaise. Construit en 2003 par Garaventa, ceci fait de lui un appareil assez original. Pour se faire, ce dernier doit passer par un col situé sur l'arrête des Leissières. Le passage sur la crête est à chaque fois assez impressionnant car on se retrouve suspendu au dessus de pentes assez vertigineuses et rocailleuses : ceci peut être gênant pour les personnes qui ont une appréhension du vide.

A ski tour with the Ski Club of Great Britain in Val d'Isere with Guide Pierre Leotard. We skinned up onto the east shoulder of Signal de l'Iseran above Col Pers, then skied down into Le Grand Vallon to the top of the Le Fornet cable car.

Col de l'Iseran - From Lanslevillard to Val-d'Isère

It’s the highest paved mountain pass in the Alps, at an elevation of 2.764 metres (9,068 ft) above the sea level. The pass is traversed by the D902 road. It's one of the highest mountain roads of Europe. This journey takes us from Lanslevillard in the south to Val-d'Isère on the northern side of the pass.The car is an Audi A4 S Line 2017 edition and this recording was made in September 2017. Road from famous ski center Val d'Isère, where 1992 winter olympic games had its part. Goes straight uphill and climb to Col de l'Iseran, 2770 meters above sea level, highest Alps mountain pass and second highest Alpine road.
Road quality from Val d'Isère to the Bonneval sur Arc isnt that great, views are epic, but road itself is not in great condition, i would sayaround 4-5/10 points. But then, from Bonneval sur Arc thru Lanslevillard all the way to the italian city Susa is different story. Great quaity road, beautiful nature and awesome views, waterfalls, lakes, dams, mountains, everything. Roadquality is easy 9/10. Great for lowered cars, great for bikes.nnMusic: Dj Mefis
