Here are the 5 most haunted cemeteries in America:
Number 5 - Gettysburg Cemetery. It is a resting place for many soldiers who lost their lives in the battle of Gettysburg. Reportedly, ghosts in Confederate and Union uniforms can be seen in the cemetery. According to a CNN report, a man wearing a Confederate army hat is frequently seen here. It is said that he tries to chat with the tourists or pose for photos. Those who have had their picture taken with him claim he disappears in print.
Number 4 - Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Chicago. Once in the cemetery you may encounter the ghost of Mary, a young lady who died during the 1930s in a car accident near the cemetery. Travel channel reports that her ghost has also been spotted outside the cemetery where she asks for a ride but then vanishes mysteriously.
Number 3 - St. Louis cemetery number 1 in New Orleans. According to CNN, visitors have reported sightings of civil war ghosts and phantom figures in the cemetery. It is said that of all the ghosts seen here, the one of Marie Laveau, a renowned voodoo practitioner back in the 19th century is the most sighted.
Number 2 - Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California. Founded in 1899, the cemetery is a resting place for many Hollywood legends such as Rudolph Valentino, Johnny Ramone, and Douglas Fairbanks. It is said that this famous cemetery is a site for many paranormal activities. Ghosts of Rudolph Valentino, Virginia Rappe, Clifton Webb, and a woman called the 'black lady' are often seen on the cemetery grounds.
Number 1 - Salem Cemetery in Hendrysberg, Ohio. It is said that many ghosts haunt this graveyard. Supposedly, the ghost of Louiza Fox, the first citizen to be murdered in the Kirkwood Township, is often seen weeping near her grave.

A small but growing number of Americans are choosing to be buried in environmentally friendly cemeteries.
That means no embalming and no extravagant coffins.
In many cases, people choose to be buried in just a shroud.
Steve Sall of Oregon was one of them.
STORYLINE:
Before he was struck by a muscle wasting disease that took the use of his legs, Steve Sall was an avid outdoorsman, hiking the mountains in the Pacific northwest and California.
When he heard about green burials he began researching his options and found a natural burial ground in a remote part of south central Washington state.
On a sunny day last June, Steve, accompanied by his wife and son, visited the private forest, located next to a canyon, dotted with ponderosa pines, sage brush and wildflowers.
At the White Eagle Memorial preserve, he chose a spot next to a tree.
Three months later he was buried there.
Twenty states in the country allow such burials.

USA: FUNERAL OF ASTRONAUT PETE CONRAD

One of America's most revered space pioneers has been buried as the nation prepares to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first manned moon landing.
Pete Conrad, the third man to walk on the moon, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, D-C.
The service was attended by fellow space giants Neil Armstrong -- the first man to walk the moon -- and former U-S Senator John Glenn, who last year made a historic return trip to space as the world's oldest space traveler.
Also on hand were Conrad's Apollo 12 colleague Alan Bean, as well as fellow astronauts Walter Cunningham and James Lovell.
Pete Conrad, who endeared himself to Americans by stepping onto the moon with a shout of Whoopee! 30 years ago, was buried on Monday surrounded by his family and many of the pioneering astronauts who ventured into space with him.
Conrad, the third man to walk on the moon, was killed in a highway crash on July 8 while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle along a winding road in Southern California.
He was 69.
His burial at Arlington National Cemetery brought together some of the nation's space giants, including Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk the moon, former Senator John Glenn, who last year made a return trip to space as the world's oldest astronaut.
Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean, Apollo 7 astronaut Walter Cunningham and Apollo 8 astronaut James Lovell also attended.
Conrad, an Apollo 12 astronaut, stepped onto the moon on November 19, 1969 - four months after Armstrong's historic moonwalk and his proclamation that it was one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
Tuesday is the 30th anniversary of Armstrong's feat.
Besides the Whoopee remark, the fun-loving Conrad declared, Man, that may have been a small one for Neil, but that's a long one for me.
At his burial, a horse-drawn carriage carried Conrad's casket from a nearby military chapel as his widow, Nancy, sons and other mourners walked behind.
A group of F-14 Tomcat aircraft flew over the service and a U-S Navy firing party fired three shots.
Conrad was a captain with the U-S Navy when he joined NASA's astronaut program in the 1960's.
A Navy band played Eternal Father as the casket was loaded from the caisson.
Several of the former astronauts eulogized Conrad during the earlier funeral service.

American flag finally waves above Manatee County cemetery
American flags will be flying all around the Bay Area in celebration of the Fourth of July, but one flag in particular, in Manatee County, will fly with special meaning.
For the first time in more than a century, the Rubonia Cemetery will have an American flag waving above it thanks to the efforts of local Army veteran Charles Miller Sr..

I wanted to do something different for Halloween this year. This is the first time I have ever attempted this type of decoration. There is a lot of room for improvement, but the bottom line is that all of the visitors had fun and enjoyed it. It has been a learning experience and it will be bigger, longer, and better in 2013.

Washington D.C. is situated on the east coast of the USA, along the banks of the Potomac River.
Most visitors begin at the National Mall. Zero Milestone is the proposed reference point for distances on all US maps. To the north is the White House. To the south stands the Washington Monument. The US Capitol Building, atop Capitol Hill, is the nation's seat of federal government.
The Mall is also home to many of the nation's Smithsonian buildings, including the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
Reflecting Pool is surrounded by tributes to its heroes and founding fathers, including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.
Washington D.C.'s Capital Bikeshare system makes it easy to reach downtown neighborhoods such as DuPont Circle and Foggy Bottom.
Georgetown is the oldest district in Washington D.C. Wisconsin Avenue and M Street have boutique stores and galleries. To the north is the National Cathedral, the Smithsonian National Zoo and the International Spy Museum.

We were not disappointed in the activity in our room, and we never felt threatened there. We used recorders, a Franks box, and other methods to record any activity.
