Commune by the Great Wall is a private collection of contemporary architecture designed by 12 Asian architects. It was exhibited at the 2002 la Biennale di Venezia and bestowed a special prize. In 2005, Commune by the Great Wall was hailed by Business Week as a New Architectural Wonder of China.

The Commune by the Great Wall is located on private land in the Shuiguan Mountains. This hotel offers guests elegant accommodations that are situated right by the Great Wall. Other attractions and points of interest are within easy reach of this hotel, and can be accessed by rental car or by taking a taxi into the city. The Commune by the Great Wall is located near the Badaling Expressway, which connects the area to the main part of the city. Rental cars can easily provide transit to points of interest and to the international airport, and once in the city, there is a vast network of public transit as well.
Each of the 190 guestrooms at the Commune by the Great Wall offers amenities such as Internet access to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.

Cross-country running in the foliage towards the Great Wall of China
Over 400 runners conquered the Great Wall of China at this autumn's cross-country race held over last weekend.
Since its inception in April 2015, the cross-country run at Commune by the Great Wall has become revered as one of China's most challenging cross-country races.
The scenic route passes through the Shuiguan mountains and ends on a beautiful unrestored section of the Great Wall.

presents: Walking a section of the great wall.
Walked the Great Wall of China on a recent visit to Beijing. No one was up there but me. Did it Texas style, in cowboy boots and jeans. Eventually went to Xi'an, Shanghai, Wenzhou, and finally ended up at my forge in Longquan to check on the sword production.
This was about as close as I can imagine to patrolling the wall as a soldier. The steps were much smaller than my foot at times, and pretty slick. Not a smart move running around up there in cowboy boots.

One can find the Great Wall Hotel Qinhuangdao on Yanshan Avenue, around many of the most popular attractions in the city.
