Len Tibeťan vie takto jazdiť na koni!
Keď mal Renqin dvadsaťtri rokov, ochorel a musel byť hospitalizovaný.

Najkrajšie cesty Čínou so sinológom a fotografom
NEPRECESTOVAL SOM DESIATKY KRAJÍN. PRECESTOVAL SOM ČÍNU. A TO PORIADNE!
**Keď som išiel prvýkrát v roku 2009 do Číny, nevedel som do akej krajiny idem. Vkročil som do neznáma. **
Pripravil som unikátne cesty Čínou:
PRECHÁDZKY ČÍNSKYMI ROZPRÁVKAMI
To najlepšie z Číny!
STRATENÉ SVETY ČÍNY A TIBETU
Dokonalá kombinácia starej a novej číny.

Hermès petit h Exhibition in Chengdu | Full Documentary
Usually a designer draws a draft before selecting materials and sewing. However, at the workshop of petit h, it is the opposite. The designers here reverse the process by creating surprise out of existing materials. More precisely, they make something magical from the discarded materials of Hermès.
April 2019, “petit h” came to the Hermès store in Chengdu Taikoo Li shopping mall for an exhibition. In this dreamy, playful and poetic world petit h builds, the visitors can take a close look at the diversity of Hermès materials and craftsmanship.

Bach Transcendent: The Quest for Musical Perfection
On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, Gil Harel presents his final lecture in his four-part Bach series.
Bach Transcendent: The Quest for Musical Perfection
In 1747, Bach would meet with none other than the King of Prussia himself, Frederick the Great. A Francophile who harbored antipathy towards religion and fancied himself a musical luminary, Frederick's goal during that fateful meeting was undoubtedly to embarrass the sexagenarian composer. Here we will explore the story of the Musical Offering and see how Bach turned the tables on the sanctimonious Prussian monarch. The composer's death in 1750 came to mark the end of the baroque period, but before he would finally succumb at the age of 65, Bach continued to plumb the depths of the polyphonic, fugal style with which he is synonymous. In his Art of the Fugue, Goldberg Variations and other works, he seemingly exhausts every musical device or idea available to a composer in the mid-18th century. Though underappreciated in his own time, later generations would come to venerate his music in a way that Bach himself surely could never have fathomed.

Adjusting China's Train Fares 'Just a Dream'?
Follow us on TWITTER:
Like us on FACEBOOK:
Recently, a netizen's appeal on a microblog asked to half
the price of train tickets without a seat (standing tickets.)
It quickly got responses from over 100,000 netizens.
Soon the official microblog of Henan Business Daily
created a poll, and 80% of netizens supported the appeal.
Both, citizens and government media joined this discussion,
condemning the authorities' monopolistic practices.
On January 12, netizen @ Weichong stated via microblog:
Each year, a large number of standing tickets are sold at the same price as the other tickets.
Passengers of standing tickets are mostly migrant workers.
Because they have no connections or knowledge, they cannot get hold of seating tickets.
They cannot enjoy service that matches their ticket price.
The fare of standing train tickets is unreasonable.
Once the statement was published on a microblog, netizens
forwarded it nearly 140,000 times within just a day.
On January 13, the official microblog of
Henan Business Daily created an online poll.
80% of netizens expressed their support
of selling the standing tickets at a half price.
Li Xiangyang (Human rights lawyer, China): The issue
of train fares is related to the grassroots people' livelihood.
For many years, legal professionals and people at grassroots
level are calling to abolish unequal transactions.
Standing tickets should have a more reasonable price.
Li Xiangyang is one of the signatories,
questioning ticket fares.
He said that this effort is to ask relevant departments
to come up with an explanation.
Sichuan Online comments that the rising voice of Standing
Tickets Half Price reflects people's awareness of their rights.
In fact, this is not the first time
when this issue has been brought up.
In 2008, the Ministry of Railways reacted to the public idea
of having different fares for standing tickets.
They said, 'standing tickets' prices will make more people
swamp to the railroad, causing severe train overcrowding and endangering traffic safety.
Chengdu Commercial Daily commented, standing tickets'
holders cannot enjoy the service that they pay for, so the full price is not fair.
Passengers of standing tickets are mostly migrant workers.
Full price is undoubtedly an exploitation of them.
Without having even a fair train ticket pricing, what is
the point of talking about pursuing fairness and justice?
Chengdu Business Daily also agrees
that standing tickets should have a half price.
Mr. Zhou (Gansu netizen): Certainly it will not happen!
If China is fixing its problems, it would have surpassed the U.S. many years ago.
People appeal about many things, like publishing officials'
assets, abolishing labor re-education, etc.
The officials don't have sense of conscience!
Corrupt officials take all money away for their mistresses.
Chengdu Business Daily pointed out that full price standing
tickets is a major source of profits for the Railway system.
Although the Ministry of Railways once regulated
the number of standing tickets to be 2-7% of seat tickets,
during holiday seasons standing tickets surpass,
up to 10 times the regulated percentage.
Southeast Business Daily states, cutting the train ticket fare
seems to be a small issue.
However, it impacts larger matters,
such as breaking monopolies.
Under the current railway monopoly,
consumers have no bargaining power.
Therefore the relevant departments do not pay attention,
despite people's strong reactions.
Li Xiangyang: From the perspective of social ethics,
and the principle of equity transactions, the government should have changed the fare and reduce it.
But monopolistic interest groups are only after their profits.
They also have power. So they ignore the issue.
Guangzhou netizen Mr. Sun said, to get fairness and justice,
China needs more people to awake and defend their rights.
Mr. Sun: If only somebody from the elite or a lawyer
promotes this, people will get some benefits.
Yet, they will be grateful to the government. People
promoting it themselves is a better way to get a fair society.
However, Southeast Business Daily points out that having
same prices for standing and seating train tickets is in full compliance with the Price Law and regulations.
It seems the resistance to adjusting
the train tickets prices is not small.
If relevant laws and regulations are not changed, having
standing tickets at half a price will remain just a dream.

The Rooster XTD by 100architects
As part of the big celebration that Xintiandi China organized for the Chinese New Year 2017, the renowned award-winning commercial area commissioned 100architects the design of the main installations on their popular retail street in downtown Shanghai. Xintiandi is a landmark not only for shopping, entertaining, leisure and lifestyle, but also for art display.
To celebrate the Year of the Rooster, the installations would have to highlight the Rooster’s character according to the Chinese Zodiac beliefs and tradition.
After researching past installations in Xintiandi, one thing became clear to us: it would not be an installation to be observed, it should be an installation to be used and enjoyed by the visitors, offering them the possibility to colonize the space and interact with it. A fun experience to be part of, rather than just watch it.
In order to achieve that, we morphed the proposal from a simple installation into a people’s attractor, catching the attention of visitors, as Roosters like to do, being the focus of the attention.
In 100 Architects, we have few research lines as strategies to intervene the public space. One of them is what we call “Painted Scapes”, a two-dimensional approach based on the idea of transforming the surface of a given cityscape; another one of them is “Object Plazas”, a three-dimensional approach, placing alienated objects onto a given cityscape to change its social dynamics.
In Xintiandi, seeking to maximize the visual impact, we decided to combine these 2 strategies displaying an installation in both, 2D patterns and 3D objects combined together, creating an illusion in which the 3D objects seem to arise from the 2D canvas.
The project was a vivid & colorful journey across detailed spaces resembling Chinese culture and the Year of the Rooster, building a unique experience that remained in visitors’ minds.
The installation was composed by:
- 2D Painted Scape: A colorful carpet invading a big part of Xintiandi Retail Street, featuring functions, activities, sugesting actions and games. It is also a splash of chinese patterns and intriguing symbology related to the year of the Rooster. It also included 5 directional arrows arising from typical chinese lanterns, pointing at the 5 “instant fuctions” provided in the 3D Object Plaza.
- 3D Object Plaza: An inhabitable architectural object inserted in the center of the main plaza. This architectural object acted as an accessible and multifunctional platform, allowing people to stand on top of it, sit down on it, lay down, etc.... It provided programmatic features that complement and enhance the surrounding environment. It became highly significant in the collective consciousness of the people around it, triggering social effects of fellowship and empathy.

Why an Education Gap Could Hurt China's Growth
The poor, rural county of Luquan is 800 kilometers and a world away from the wealthy, urban city of Chengdu. But the students in high schools in both places are taking the same classes taught by the same teachers. Luquan No. 1 Middle School is one of about 400 rural schools in China using on-line learning to bridge a growing education gap between rural and urban areas. (video by Menglin Huang)
