KeithFest 2014, Sat. June 28th At Coyote Moon In Clayton
keithfest.org
The 2014 KeithFest will be held on June 28th at the Coyote Moon Vineyards, Clayton, NY. Keith Fest is a family friendly community event that celebrates the importance of music in our lives. This is a major fundraising effort with proceeds going to the Keith Brabant Music Scholarship administered by the Thousand Islands Foundation.
Keith Brabant, a musician/composer born in Clayton, NY, believed that introducing children to music early in life, during their school years, was important for the appreciation of music throughout a person's life. He also believed that financial constraints should not prevent interested young people from pursuing their musical dreams.
This scholarship has been created in honor of Keith Brabant who died at age 33, but left a wonderful legacy of music for all. During his life, Keith worked constantly to develop his musical talent, here in the North Country as well as in Colorado and Washington State. He toured throughout the western states sharing his music; while always finding time to enjoy nature -- hiking, biking, and skiing -- and the people he met along the way. Keith taught many young people to appreciate the gift of music and with this scholarship we are helping to ensure Keith's legacy is not forgotten.
KeithFest Schedule...
At noon on June 28th Sarah Parker Ada will bring her ukulele and begin a day of magnificent music. The 2014 scholarship awards will be presented at 12:20; we are very pleased to be providing five students from across Jefferson County with financial assistance for their musical pursuits this year. The music continues from 12:40 until 2:15 with Mark Mason and friends Gary Walts, Sam Hopkins, Jim Burr, Lisa Forshaw and Jim Wiley. Next, we will be treated to performances by Dave Scanlon and the DTZ's, followed at 2:45 by Coyote Moon's own Foggy River Band and at 3:30 the acoustic trio Define Normal will take the stage. Starting at 3:50, don't miss a dedicated group of local musicians presenting The Keith Brabant Experience, a tribute to Keith by Justin Reynbolds and friends, will include selections of Keith's original music as well as some of his favorite cover songs. As this music filled day continues, attendees will be treated to the Casey Street Shuffle at 4:30. The Sonic Buzz at 4:35, Root Seller at 5:55, and Ian Wagner at 6:40. At 7:10 Minus Mike, the talented group Keith started out with during his teen years, will wrap up the 2014 KeithFest!
In addition to a full day of remarkable musical performances, KeithFest offers many activities for children throughout the day. The popular kid's craft tent and Instrument Petting Zoo will be open from noon until 6pm. A Bounce-N-Round bounce house and face painting will also be available. Horse drawn wagon rides through the vineyards will be offered until 5pm. FiFi D. Clown and Our Lucky Farm petting zoo and pony rides will be on site until 4pm. New this year, and not to be missed, is the Fragile Planet Wildlife Exhibit, scheduled from 2pm until 4pm.
Also new this year is Snapshots Photo Booth, with props and backdrops available to create a lasting memento of your 2014 KeithFest day. There will be a KeithFest merchandise tent, where t-shirts, cozies and other festival items will be available, along with a limited supply of Keith's own recorded music. We are also expecting Bob Hughes to be displaying his custom guitars for sale and Melissa Wainwright, with the Island Artisan Group, offering two special order memorial items for KeithFest along with other fine arts. Artisans and crafters are welcome; please contact any organizer, post to our Facebook site, or e-mail us at keithbrabantgeneralinfo@yahoo.com if you would like more information.
A wide assortment of food and drink will be available to tempt all appetites. The KeithFest committee will be offering its popular Fried Cheese Curd again this year, and Coyote Moon will have their famous wine slushies along with beer and wine. Food vendors will include a cook out by LaFargeville Sons of the American Legion, Barlow's Concession, Smokey's BBQ, Mexican specialties, and Cheesecake on a Stick.

The National for Tuesday March 6, 2018 - RCMP Review, Trump's Tariffs, Housing Crisis
A clarification about the first story in this newscast: One of the details in this report suggests that after first arresting Gerald Stanley, the RCMP released him from custody before taking a formal statement. We have since obtained new information that shows, while his statement was not taken until the day following his arrest, he was not released from custody. We also reported that there was no indication Stanley's clothing was seized. However, new information shows us that his clothing was in fact seized. We contacted the RCMP prior to our reporting and they declined our repeated requests to confirm or deny that information.

San Francisco Bay Area
The San Francisco Bay Area, commonly known as the Bay Area, is a populated region that surrounds the San Francisco and San Pablo estuaries in Northern California, United States. The region encompasses the major cities and metropolitan areas of San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, along with smaller urban and rural areas. The Bay Area's nine counties are Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. Home to approximately 7.44 million people, the nine-county Bay Area contains many cities, towns, airports, and associated regional, state, and national parks, connected by a network of roads, highways, railroads, bridges, tunnels and commuter rail. The combined urban area of the region is the second-largest in California (after the Greater Los Angeles area), the fifth-largest in the United States, and the 56th-largest urban area in the world.
The United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB) does not use the nine-county definition of the San Francisco Bay Area. The OMB has designated a more extensive 12-county Combined Statistical Area (CSA) titled the San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland, CA Combined Statistical Area which also includes the three counties of San Joaquin, Santa Cruz, and San Benito that do not border San Francisco Bay, but are economically tied to the nine counties that do.
