It's two All-American foods that people love and that I love. It's my favourite foods. So, just combine the two - using good quality ingredients and fresh products - and it turned out great.

It goes against what common sense is today - don't eat fried foods, don't eat a lot of processed meats. But, that's just the reality of the world. It's never going to be a perfect world of eating. And there are going to be choices out there as a nutritionist, I wouldn't recommend. But again, once in a while, you can eat something like that. To make it an everyday quick sandwich to get, I don't recommend that.

When you think about it, you have different parts of your palate that perceive different flavours. So the more flavours that are involved - whether it's spicy, sweet, sour - the better the experience is going to be. Now they have chocolate bars that have savoury ingredients in them like bacon. And maybe in the beginning, that was a little bit risque but now it's more common to see that happen.

For some it's a gastronomical match made in heaven: fried chicken and donuts.
Now the American duo can be bought together from the latest fast food outlet in the US - but nutritionists warn not to make the high calorie combo a daily treat.
STORYLINE
Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken opens at midday but the queue outside begins forming as early as 11am.
Every day the little start-up shop is sold out within the first ninety minutes of trade.
People, it seems, cannot get enough of the fried chicken - donut combination.
