BUCHAREST, ROMANIA - Bucharest is the largest city in Romania, a vibrant capital, full of old and new, and an abundance of markets, and everything from street food to high end restaurants. In this ultimate Romanian food tour of Bucharest, we ate a variety of amazing food, and I’m going to share it all with you in this video! #Romania #RomanianFood #Bucharest
Huge thank you to Nassim ( and Cristian ( for setting up this incredible trip.
Obor Market - To start off this day of eating, we headed to the biggest fruit and vegetable market in Bucharest, Obor Market. After walking around the amazing fruit selection, and vegetables, we had a quick cup of freshly squeezed grape juice.
Terasa Obor Mici - Located at the market is one of the best Romanians street food stalls in the city, Terasa Obor Mici. There’s nothing like a few mici in the morning with some beer. The owner here is also incredibly friendly, and they serve probably the best mici in Romania.
Argentine Steak & Sushi - Next up on this food tour of Bucharest, we had a lunch cooked by Chef Catalin Petrescu ( who uses Romanian ingredients to make Japanese food - and it’s amazing food. Cristian also supplies microgreens for this restaurant ( It was an outstanding meal.
Parliament of Romania - The most important and iconic landmark in Bucharest is the Parliament of Romania, the second largest administrative building in the world. We took a quick tour of some of the most decorated and beautiful rooms.
Origo Coffee Shop If you love good coffee, when you’re in Bucharest, Romania, this is the place to go.
Dristor Kebap - This chain of Romanian style shawarma is a must try when you’re in Bucharest. I loved the unique selection of vegetables, and especially the stir mix of all the ingredients, which I haven’t seen in other countries.
Caru' cu bere - Finally, to complete this incredible day of Romanian food in Bucharest, we went to Caru' cu bere, a historical Romanian restaurant, full of cultures, and meaty Romanian food. Every night is a party at Caru' cu bere!

10 Best Places to Visit in Romania - Travel Video
Located on the Balkan Peninsula, Romania is a country of contrasts. The former Soviet Bloc country has, over the years, belonged to the Romans who gave the country its name, the Hungarians and the Ottomans. It is filled with quaint old towns, mountain resorts that offer great skiing, and a burgeoning art community. It’s most famous citizen, however, may be the vampire Dracula, a fictional character found in Transylvania. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Romania:

Bucharest is one of the most under-rated travel destinations in Europe - LET ME SHOW YOU WHY. I had such an amazing time here; from the architecture, to the food, to the welcoming people, my expectations were blown out of the water. With almost 20 million people, Romania is the seventh biggest member of the European Union in terms of population. Its capital and largest city, Bucharest, is the sixth-largest city in the EU, with around 2 million people.
After the 1989 Revolution, Romania began a transition towards democracy and a capitalist market economy and they have been part of the European Union since 2007.
The official language is Romanian, an Eastern Romance language similar to Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese. An interesting fact is that the Romanian alphabet contains 26 letters of the Latin language. So, if you speak Italian, French, Spanish or Portuguese, you will be in good shape there. And of course, many people also speak English.
Now I gotta tell you, on my last Europe trip, Bucharest was one of the biggest surprises because of the:
- History
- Culture
- Sightseeing
- Food
- And Friendly people
- Bucharest is an ideal destination for you that love to visit a vibrant European city.
- I could easily spend weeks in beautiful Romania.
- Another good thing is that the Exchange rate goes far there compared to Euro (Their currency is called Romanian Lei).
HOW TO GET THERE:
- Fly to Bucharest Airport
WHERE WE STAYED:
- Radisson Blu Bucharest (outstanding hotel with Casino right next door)
- Right downtown perfect location
SIGHTSEEING AND TO DO:
- Old town (bars and restaurants, one of the oldest churches)
- Palace of Parliament
- Communism historic sights
- Walk Vistoriei avenue
- Romanian Athenaeum is the majestic heart of Romania’s classical music tradition
- Victory Street is a beautiful street
- Mosilor Street (for fancy coffee shops and lounges)
- Remember that you can also visit the historic region of transylvania or you can catch some sun in Mamaia Beach by the black sea side of Romania.
FOOD SPOTS:
- Old town has dozens of restaurants and bars to choose from.
- Lente & Cafea
- Energiea
- Vacamuuu
- Arcade cafe
- Torna Fratre
- Simbio
STREET FOODS::
- Dobrogeana cheese pie
- Pretzels (covrigi)
Remember, exchange rate is in your favor compared to the Euros and US Dollars.
To summarize, Romania is a beautiful country with lots of history, sightseeing, great food and very friendly people. Bucharest is a must stop in Eastern Europe!

Bucuresti (Romania) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Bucuresti in Romania.
The capital of Romania, Bucharest, the Paris of the East. Founded by Prince Dracula and transformed from a dictatorship into a fine metropolis. In between embellished Classical and Baroque facades, as well as playful Art Nouveau, are many splendid historic buildings. In Bucharest’s Old Town are the ruins of the Old Royal Court in which Vlad Tepes resided. In 1456, Vlad The Impaler, also known as Dracula, came to power as Prince Of The Walachei. On the other side of the Dâmboviţa River is Romania’s last dictator’s impressive and once-fearsome building, the Palace Of Parliament. Close by is the National Opera House which was founded in 1998 and created as a multi-functional complex. The Templul Coral is the largest and most beautiful synagogue in Bucharest where more than a hundred thousand Jews once lived. The Jewish Cemetery is now a sad sight as it has become overgrown and neglected. The large cemetery in the south of the city is an impressive symbol of death and a work of emotion and nostalgia. Monumental mausoleums, artistic wooden crosses and touching sculptures decorate the final resting place of prominent personages. The historic Orthodox Cemetery is the national pantheon that Baron Bellu had designed in the mid-nineteenth century. Bellu, who also became Romania’s Minister Of Culture And Justice, donated his garden in which the foundation of the cemetery was laid in November, 1852. Situated at the intersection of East and West, Bucharest is a pulsating city, a cosmopolitan metropolis with abundant art and culture, churches, museums and palaces: the pride of the nation’s honour regained!

Bucharest, Romania virtual tour
There are slides of Palace of Parliament, Stavropoleos Monastery, Romanian Athenaeum, Arcul de Triumf, University of Bucharest, National Military Circle, etc.
Bucharest is the capital and largest city of Romania, as well as its cultural, industrial, and financial centre. It is located on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, less than 60 km north of the Danube River and the Bulgarian border.
Bucharest was first mentioned in documents in 1459. It became the capital of Romania in 1862 and is the centre of Romanian media, culture, and art. Its architecture is a mix of historical (neo-classical), interbellum (Bauhaus and art deco), communist-era and modern. In the period between the two World Wars, the city's elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname of Little Paris (Micul Paris). Although buildings and districts in the historic city centre were heavily damaged or destroyed by war, earthquakes, and above all Nicolae Ceaușescu's program of systematization, many survived. In recent years, the city has been experiencing an economic and cultural boom.
Bucharest is the 6th largest city in the European Union by population within city limits, after London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, and Paris.
Economically, Bucharest is the most prosperous city in Romania and is one of the main industrial centres and transportation hubs of Eastern Europe. The city has big convention facilities, educational institutes, cultural venues, traditional shopping arcades and recreational areas.
The city proper is administratively known as the Municipality of Bucharest (Municipiul București), and has the same administrative level as that of a national county, being further subdivided into six sectors, each governed by a local mayor.
