Fashion events grace the French capital all year round. One’s a little less known, but no less impressive: Black Fashion Week, now a permanent fixture in the fashion calendar, and that’s all thanks to its founder Adama Amanda Ndiaye. It exists to counter dominant Caucasian beauty ideals, challenging boundaries and perceptions. It captures young imaginations and show budding designers that success isn’t as elusive as it may seem. BFWParis is about cultural history more than it’s about colour.

France: 'Yellow Vest' violence carries on after dark in Paris
Police and 'Yellow Vest' protesters faced off in the central Paris' Place de la Republique on Saturday, as people took to the streets of French cities for the eleventh weekend in a row.
The Yellow Vest movement emerged in November 2018 after French President Emmanuel Macron announced hikes in fuel taxes to encourage a transition towards greener energy.
Despite the French government suspending the tax hikes and announcing increases to the minimum wage, protests have continued.
According to the French Interior Ministry, some 4,000 people took to the streets of Paris alone with some 69,000 protesting nationwide.

Travel France - Visiting Paris at Night
Take a tour of Paris at Night in France -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Paris by day is spectacular, but lesser known is that it is equally luminous by night.
After darkness falls, there's no question as to why Paris is called the City of Lights.
Even without the sun, the city never truly goes dark, thanks to its vibrant light displays.
The most famous is the sparkling Eiffel Tower, but there are many other wonderful buildings aflame with light.
The Sacre Coeur is equally and differently beautiful at night than it is during the day.
The Notre Dame, dark and imposing by day, becomes a glowing palace when illuminated.
This world-famous cathedral is positively otherworldly when brightly outlined in the black night sky.
The city enliven when darkness covers the sky, giving Paris a fun and exciting night life.
